Aloy, the protagonist of Horizon Zero Dawn, has made her way into the world of Genshin Impact as a playable character in the game. As a five-star Cryo archer, Aloy brings a unique set of skills and abilities to the table, making her a versatile and powerful addition to any team. Her introduction to the game has been eagerly awaited by fans of both games, as this is the first and only collaboration character in Genshin Impact up to date. While she cannot get any constellations, she was freely given to every player.
While she is not one of the most popular or strongest characters in Genshin Impact, Aloy can still find her spot in a team that is looking for a Cryo main DPS or sub-DPS option. When it comes to weapons, Aloy has several options to choose from, including both 4-star and 5-star options, each with its own unique advantages or downsides. Depending on the player's play style and preferences, some weapons on this list may be more suitable for Aloy than others.
Is The Predator Bow Good?
- Primary Stat: 510 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 41.3% ATK
- Special Effect: Dealing Cryo DMG to opponents increases this character's Normal and Charged Attack DMG by 10% for 6s. This effect can have a maximum of 2 stacks. Additionally, when Aloy equips Predator, ATK is increased by 66.
Aloy's signature weapon, the Predator Bow, was previously obtainable by PlayStation players from Version 2.1 until Version 2.3. Due to this exclusivity, many Genshin Impact players who primarily play on other platforms were unable to acquire the bow unless they used cross-save methods. However, players who did not have access to the Predator Bow need not worry, as there are better 4-star and 5-star weapon options that are permanently available in the game. It is also important to note that if players do acquire the Predator Bow while playing on PC or mobile, they will not be able to activate its special effect, which is exclusive to PlayStation users.
5 King's Squire
- Primary Stat: 454 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 55.1% ATK
- R5 Effect: Obtain the Teachings of the Forest effect when unleashing Elemental Skills and Bursts, increasing Elemental Mastery by 140 for 12s. This effect will be removed when switching characters. When the Teachings of the Forest effect ends or is removed, it will deal 180% of ATK as DMG to 1 nearby opponent. The Teachings of the Forest effect can be triggered once every 20s.
The King's Squire bow is a top choice for F2P players, as it is a craftable weapon in Genshin Impact. It is particularly well-suited for players looking to use Aloy as both a sub-DPS and main DPS, especially when paired with a character like Xiangling who can apply Pyro off-field to trigger the Melt reaction. This bow grants Aloy an increase in Elemental Mastery after using her Skill or Burst, further boosting her damage potential. For players who have not progressed far in the game or exploration, the Prototype Crescent is another F2P craftable weapon that can serve as an alternative. It has the same base and secondary stats as The Predator, but with a different effect that enhances Aloy's movement speed and ATK when charged attacks hit an enemy's weak points, making it also well-suited for Aloy as an on-field DPS.
4 Polar Star
- Primary Stat: 608 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 33.1% Crit Rate
- R1 Effect: Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG increased by 12%. After a Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst hits an opponent, 1 stack of Ashen Nightstar will be gained for 12s. When 1/2/3/4 stacks of Ashen Nightstar are present, ATK is increased by 10/20/30/48%. The stack of Ashen Nightstar created by the Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst will be counted independently of the others.
The Polar Star is a top pick for players who prioritize Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst for their Main or Sub-DPS bow users like Childe. Its full potential is seen at 4-stacks, but even with 2-stacks, it provides a considerable damage boost, making it a great choice for players who prefer to use Aloy's Elemental Skill and Burst before switching to another character. However, since the weapon requires players to build up stacks to activate its effect, it may not be the most optimal option compared to other weapons on the list that do not have a prerequisite for activating their effects
3 The Stringless
- Primary Stat: 510 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: Elemental Mastery + 165
- R1 Effect: Increases Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG by 24%.
For sub-DPS characters that rely heavily on their Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst, The Stringless is one of the most sought-after 4-star weapons in Genshin Impact due to its strong effect. This weapon is particularly useful for characters who specialize in elemental reactions and is relatively easy to obtain through gacha pulls. With no prerequisites to activate its effects, The Stringless is an ideal option for players who want to use Aloy for elemental reactions. Even at refinement level 1, this weapon offers a significant damage boost, making it the best 4-star weapon option for Aloy.
2 Skyward Harp
- Primary Stat: 674 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 22.1% Crit Rate
- R1 Effect: Increases CRIT DMG by 20%. Hits have a 60% chance to inflict a small AoE attack, dealing 125% Physical ATK DMG. Can only occur once every 4s.
Skyward Harp is an excellent option for every bow-wielding character that focus on dealing damage. While it provides less Crit Rate as a secondary stat compared to the Polar Star, it has a higher base ATK stat and additional effects that increase Critical Damage. This weapon does not require players to rely solely on Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst, although they can certainly do so. The weapon's additional effect and Crit DMG boost increase even further with refinements, making it an even stronger choice for Main DPS Aloy users without needing to build stacks. However, as a 5-star gacha weapon, obtaining multiple copies may prove difficult, although it is available in both the standard banner pool and limited gacha pools, making it more accessible than limited weapons like the Polar Star.
1 Thundering Pulse
- Primary Stat: 608 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 66.2% Crit DMG
- R1 Effect: Increases ATK by 20% and grants the might of the Thunder Emblem. At stack levels 1/2/3, the Thunder Emblem increases Normal Attack DMG by 12/24/40%. The character will obtain 1 stack of Thunder Emblem in each of the following scenarios: Normal Attack deals DMG (stack lasts 5s), casting Elemental Skill (stack lasts 10s); Energy is less than 100% (stack disappears when Energy is full). Each stack's duration is calculated independently.
Powerful Thundering Pulse is often associated with Yoimiya, but it can also be a top bow choice for Aloy players who want to use her as their primary damage dealer. This bow relies on stacking its effect to reach its full potential, but Aloy players who use her on-field as a main DPS will have an easier time building up these stacks. Once the effect of her Elemental Skill is over, however, it is still best to switch out of her until the end of cooldown. With its main stat being Crit DMG and Cryo characters typically having an easier time with Crit Rate, especially when utilizing Cryo Resonance, Thundering Pulse can give Aloy the most damage potential with its stats and effects.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
