Acquiring the Energy Storage Device and unlocking the Research Terminal is part of the An Eye for An Eye Quest in Genshin Impact. Players must collect three Energy Storage Devices and use them on three different Terminals to remove the barriers blocking the Research Terminal.
The step is quite simple and easy to follow as the Research Terminals are marked on the map in Genshin Impact. However, players must be careful of the Flying Energy Thief as it will steal the energy from the device, making it useless.
How To Acquire The Energy Storage Device And Unlock The Research Terminal Ahead In Genshin Impact
Upon breaking free from the Abandoned Production Area in Genshin Impact and distracting the guards successfully, the group will arrive at Geode Mine Shaft. There are three barriers that players can remove in a specific order, which are right, left, and then the one in the middle.
First, approach one of the Energy Storage Devices and press Pick Up. Quickly run straight ahead then turn right. Go left to grab the Mysterious Ore quickly then continue to the right side and place the storage device next to the first Deactivated Research Terminal.
Don't forget to press Break Seal after activating the console, otherwise, the road to the other Research Terminals won't open.
Next, go back to the first location, where Caterpillar is standing, and pick up the following Energy Storage Device. Like the previous one, sprint straight ahead then make a sharp turn left t o find the second Deactivated Research Terminal. This spot is a bit difficult since the Energy Flying Thief is patrolling the area more thoroughly in Genshin Impact. So, if players encounter one of them, try to circle around the area to lose the thief.
Finally, go back to the initial location and grab the third Energy Storage Device in Genshin Impact. Simply go straight and turn left at the end to find the third Deactivated Research Terminal.
Upon approaching the exit, a barrier appears out of nowhere and locks everyone inside the mine. It turns out that Noailles caught up with the group and players must fight him. Although the guard’s health is displayed like a boss in Genshin Impact, he's very easy to beat in addition to Caterpillar’s assistance. So, a few strikes with a decent damage dealer should do the trick. Estienne appears after a while and lets everyone go, thus releasing the barrier. Dive into the water and use the current to leave the Fortress of Meropide, completing the An Eye for An Eye Quest.
