Ever since Ororon first made an appearance in the Archon questline for Genshin Impact’s Natlan region, this character has become a hot topic with fans speculating about the character’s true identity. Meanwhile, leaks have been debating over Ororon’s anticipated rarity ahead of their official release as a playable character. By now, though, Genshin Impact’s latest Special Program has cleared up much of the information about this popular upcoming character.
Ororon is a four-star Electro Bow user, who will make their first appearance in the Event Wish Banner during Genshin Impact’s 5.2 Update, releasing on November 20. While Ororon’s Constellation upgrades remain unknown, Ororon’s ability kit and Nightsoul’s Blessing mechanics finally being revealed should give fans a strong idea of what to expect from this upcoming playable character.

Everything Revealed About Genshin Impact’s Ororon So Far
Ororon is a member of the Natlan region’s Masters of the Night-wind tribe, who players first met during the Natlan region’s Archon questline. In terms of gameplay, Ororon is a four-star Electro bow user, with crowd-control capabilities, who synergizes with team compositions of Hydro and Electro characters as well as other Natlan characters.
Beyond Ororon, players also got to meet another member of the Masters of the Night-wind tribe recently, Granny Itztli, also known as Citlali, who is expected to be a new playable character in Genshin Impact’s 5.3 update.
Ororon’s Release Date
While the four-star characters for upcoming Event Wish Banners in Genshin Impact are usually unknown ahead of their release, Ororon is a special case. Genshin Impact’s 5.2 Special Program has already revealed that Ororon will be available in Chasca and Lyney’s Banners during phase one of Genshin Impact’s 5.2 update, from November 20 to December 10.
As a four-star character, Ororon will be added to the Standard Wish Banner in Genshin Impact after their first appearance in the Event Wish Banner.

Ororon’s Kit Explained
Despite early leaks and rumors speculating that Ororon could be a four-star character and a healer, Ororon will instead be a four-star DPS character specializing in crowd control and the Electro-Charged Elemental reaction. While Electro-Charged typically isn’t considered part of Genshin Impact’s current meta, Ororon also synergizes with other Natlan characters, so for players who don’t want to slot Ororon into a team composition as a battery for Hydro and Electro characters, Ororon’s crowd control abilities can still be useful when slotted as a sub-DPS on a team with other Natlan characters.
Ororon’s Elemental Skill: Throws a Spirit Eye that bounces between enemies and deals Electro damage.
Ororon’s Elemental Burst: Throws a Supersonic Spirit Eye, which distracts and pulls in nearby enemies, occasionally dealing Electro damage to all enemies within its radius.
As an Electro bow-user with crowd control and battery skills, players should expect Ororon to play similarly to Fischl, except with the added utility of Ororon’s Nightsoul’s Blessing mechanics.
Additional Skills:
- Ororon’s charged bow shots will deal damage in a wide AoE
- Ororon can propel himself off the ground high enough to enter a gliding state
- While gliding, Ororon can briefly hover in place to aim and fire his bow
- Ororon will provide increased gliding speed to all party members
Ororon’s Nightsoul’s Blessing State: Ororon’s Hypersense Effect will periodically deal Electro damage to nearby enemies.
Unlike any of the existing Natlan characters, Ororon has rather unique Nightsoul’s Blessing skills, with Ororon being able to earn Nightsoul points and maintain his Nightsoul Burst while off-field. Ororon can gain Nightsoul points from the following methods:
- When another party member triggers a Nighsoul Burst
- When another party member deals Hydro or Electro damage while Ororon’s Elemental Skill is active
- Collecting sources of Phlogiston in the Natlan region
