Genshin Impact has confirmed that the upcoming Special Program for Version 4.6 will be held on April 12. HoYoverse's livestream events are usually held approximately two weeks before a new update arrives, and they reveal most of the upcoming content including new characters, weapons, and regions.
Genshin Impact's official social media accounts have already confirmed the arrival of a new five-star character named Arlecchino, who has been part of the game for quite some time. Arlecchino made her first appearance during the famous "A Winter Night's Lazzo" trailer that also introduced all the remaining Harbingers.

Genshin Impact officially announced that the Special Program livestream event for Version 4.6 will be held on April 12 at 08:00 AM (UTC-4). Following the game's usual update schedule, players can expect the new update to arrive around April 24. The official announcement shown on the game's Twitter account features four characters: Arataki Itto, Lumine, Arlecchino, and Lyney. The latter's appearance in the image gives more credibility to previous rumors that he would be featured on the game's first banner alongside Arlecchino. Many fans were surprised to see Itto on the announcement, since he was placed on the first Limited Character Banner of the ongoing Genshin Impact update 4.5 alongside new character Chiori.
Genshin Impact Special Program Event Release Date and Time
According to previous Genshin Impact leaks, the second banner phase is reserved for the Anemo user Wanderer and the Dendro support Baizhu. Wanderer, previously known as Scaramouche, is one of the most popular characters in the roster and many fans suspect that he could also make an in-game appearance considering that he once belonged to the Fatui organization, the same antagonist faction that Arlecchino works for.
Unlike Wanderer, HoYoverse won't be changing Arlecchino's element, as she's already been confirmed as a Pyro user. When it comes to her power on the field, Arlecchino will be a new DPS character in Genshin Impact with a unique kit that could take some time to get used to, as players need to keep track of her HP constantly. Credible leakers have also revealed that her playstyle might resemble that of another Pyro user, the five-star polearm user Hu Tao.
Arlecchino's whole playstyle revolves around a special effect called Bond of Life, which will enhance the damage of all her offensive skills and limit any incoming healing effects. Regarding her team composition, Arlecchino is expected to be a flexible five-star unit that can fit almost any type of party in Genshin Impact that needs a powerful Pyro user.
