A recent Genshin Impact leak has revealed that Layla and Lynette will join Ifa as the featured 4-Star characters of Version 5.6, but it remains to be seen whether they will all share the same banner phase. In terms of content, Version 5.6 has a lot going for it: a sequel to Mondstadt's Archon Quest, the debut of Escoffier and Ifa, as well as a new weekly boss. While it won't feature a large map expansion, Genshin Impact is adding a new zone to Natlan in the form of an island that will seemingly bridge Atopcan and Mare Jivari together.
As exciting as these developments are from a story perspective, Escoffier and Ifa are meant to be the main stars of Version 5.6. Whereas Ifa needs no introduction, Escoffier is a renowned chef from Fontaine who is set to revive Freeze, an Elemental Reaction that has lain dormant since the rise of Dendro. While Freeze teams in Genshin Impact have remained viable, especially with characters such as Wriothesley, they haven't been an active part of the meta since the days of Ayaka. This is expected to change with the debut of two upcoming 5-Stars: Escoffier and Skirk.

Escoffier in Genshin Impact is the first piece of the puzzle, as she is slated to make her playable debut in the first half of Version 5.6. According to datamined information via HomDGCat, the 4-Star characters in the upcoming patch will include Ifa, Lynette, and Layla. It's important to remember that the Event Banners for Version 5.6 of Genshin Impact will feature Escoffier, Navia, Kinich, and Raiden. Assuming Escoffier and Navia both run in the first half of the patch, then Layla will likely accompany them.

While this selection of 4-Stars may not be as enticing as the one on Varesa and Xianyun's banner, Ifa should be able to draw plenty of interest from players by his lonesome. Assuming fans want to prepare for Skirk in Genshin Impact, their most important mission in Version 5.6 should be to grab Escoffier on her debut banner, regardless of the 4-Stars she ends up with.
