A new leak from Genshin Impact's Version 3.8 is sharing more details about the upcoming limited-time region set to debut with the update. The massively popular RPG from HoYoverse has seen plenty of major additions throughout its recent patches, including multiple map updates to the game's newest region of Sumeru. Version 3.4 saw the second expansion of the region's sprawling desert while another new locale was added in Version 3.6, bringing with it a world boss and a new weekly boss. Now, fans are set to receive one more map addition before Fontaine's release. The next expansion to Genshin Impact's map has already been teased several times throughout recent leaks, hinting at a limited region coming with Version 3.8. Previous posts would suggest that the update will not feature the return of the Golden Apple Archipelago region, previously included in both Versions 1.8 and 2.8. Leaks have suggested the event-based location will be an entirely new area exclusive to Version 3.8's event, likely acting as a precursor to Fontaine. Now, more details are coming out about Genshin Impact's rumored island adventure. A new leak from Genshin Impact leaker Vississ via prominent leaker HutaoLover77 reveals more information about Version 3.8's island region. The post confirms the new islands will not be the Golden Apple Archipelago's third appearance, with the islands instead boasting a "fantasy" theme. The islands will reportedly feature several mechanical elements, acting as a teaser to the highly technologically advanced region of Fontaine set to come in the following update. Vississ would also confirm previous rumors that Eula will play a major role in the story of the event.
Eula's appearance in Version 3.8's event is set to come alongside a long-awaited return for the character during the update as well. Eula is heavily rumored to be receiving a re-run banner during the update, her first appearance on the limited gacha banner in over 500 days. She is believed to be arriving alongside a re-run of Klee, who is expected to receive her first skin in Version 3.8 alongside starter character Kaeya. Version 3.8 will also reportedly feature no new characters added to Genshin Impact, a first for the popular RPG.
While Version 3.8 is set to bring plenty of new content to Genshin Impact, many fans are already looking ahead to the game's next version. Version 4.0 is set to add the newest major region to the game with the Hydro-themed region of Fontaine in mid-August. Fontaine reportedly features several new water-themed mechanics and puzzles to go along with its main element, as well as a suite of new characters. Between the limited-time islands and Fontaine, Genshin Impact's map is set to grow substantially throughout the rest of the year.
Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
