Spiral Abyss is an important aspect of Genshin Impact gameplay. On every version of the Spiral Abyss, there will be a new blessing that may affect the combat, which in turn will affect players' team-making. The first phase of the 3.5 Spiral Abyss blessing generates a shockwave at the opponent’s position whenever a character triggers Spread or Aggravate reactions. It’s effective on all floors and significantly enhances Quicken teams in Genshin Impact.

Players can take full advantage of the blessing by pairing an Electro unit with a Dendro one when building a Spiral Abyss team comp. Typically, a Spiral Abyss blessing enhances the ability of the most recent character banners, but the Genshin Impact 3.5 Phase 1 Spiral Abyss boosts neither Hu Tao nor Yelan.

Spiral Abyss 3.5 Floor 9 - Phase 1

floor 9 of spiral abyss in genshin impact

Since Sumeru is the newest region in Genshin Impact, it’s a common theme to find the floors’ buffs to be Dendro-related. For instance, on floor 9 of the 3.5 Spiral Abyss, the Ley Line Disorder provides a 125% boost to Dendro Cores, Burgeons, and Hyperblooms. This buff is a perfect boost for a character like Nilou since most of her team’s DMG comes from Dendro Cores.

Sample Team

  • First Half:
    • Ganyu + Kokomi + Shenhe + Kazuha
    • Ayaka + Venti + Mona + Diona
  • Second Half:
    • Nilou + Nahida + Xingqiu + Yaoyao
    • Kuki Shinobu + Nahida + Xingqiu + Dendro MC

Chamber 1

spiral abyss floor 9 chamber 1 in genshin impact
  • First Half: The enemies in this Chamber always spawn on different sides, so it's ideal to not waste time chasing them around. When fighting the Fungus, players can choose one side and let the other enemies follow, or simply use crowd-control characters like Kazuha, Venti, and Sucrose.
  • Second Half: For the second half, players should first aim for the ranged Eremites. Then, for the second wave, prioritize attacking the Axe Vanguard and let the other enemies follow behind.

Chamber 2

spiral abyss floor 9 chamber 2 in genshin impact
  • First Half: For the first half, players should prioritize the smaller Hilichurl as the Mitachurl will follow.
  • Second Half: Meanwhile, in the second half, the first enemy players should defeat is the Dendro Samachurl. After the first wave is cleared, the next will spawn two Hydro Mages. Dendro is the best Element to destroy Hydro shield, but a Cryo damage dealer is great to take down both the Slimes and the Hydro Abyss Mage’s shield.

Chamber 3

spiral abyss floor 9 chamber 3 in genshin impact
  • First Half: Prioritize the Shrooms in the first half as they're more dangerous than the Fungi.
  • Second Half: The second half contains three Eremites. The Linebreaker is the weakest, so players can either beat him first or ignore him. The most dangerous foe in this fight is the Sunforst as they host the Freezing Filament aura, which causes an Ice Cage to spawn every 12s. Meanwhile, the Daythunder hosts the Electro aura, which creates Lightning chains every 12s.

Spiral Abyss 3.5 Floor 10 - Phase 1

spiral abyss floor 10 in genshin impact

Just like floor 9, Dendro units are a must on floor 10 if players want to fully take advantage of the Ley Line Disorder buff, which buffs Spread and Aggravate reactions by 75%. Moreover, playing Quicken teams perfectly matches the Spiral Abyss blessing since it will keep unleashing shockwaves when triggering these Dendro reactions in Genshin Impact.

Sample Team

  • First Half:
    • Alhaitham + Kuki Shinobu + Zhongli + Albedo
    • Tighnari + Raiden Shogun + Yaoyao + Kujou Sara
  • Second Half:
    • Hu Tao + Yelan + Xingqiu + Diona
    • Ganyu + Venti + Kokomi + Shenhe

Chamber 1

spiral abyss floor 10 chamber 1 in genshin impact
  • First Half: Similar to floor 9, the first half in chamber 1 contains some Shrooms and Fungus enemies that are spread throughout the arena. The only thing note-worthy here is the Electro Slimes. Players shouldn’t enter this chamber with a sole Electro DPS.
  • Second Half: Primordial Bathysmal Vishaps are one of the biggest common enemies in Genshin Impact. These monsters never stop moving and jumping, so controlling them with Anemo units like Kazuha can help finish this chamber on time.

Chamber 2

spiral abyss floor 10 chamber 2 in genshin impact
  • First Half: It doesn't really matter which line players break first, but it's important to defeat both Kairagi at the same time. If only one of them is defeated, the other will restore 100% HP and enter a raged state. In this state, the enemy is stronger, has higher max HP, and can't be controlled even with Frozen reaction.
  • Second Half: The Electro Abyss Mage and Thunderhelm Lawachurl are dangerous. Although players are still on floor 10, the two Electro monsters can drain characters’ health quickly. To finish this half, bring a shielder to protect units from their attacks and add a good Pyro or Cryo unit like Ayaka or Ganyu to eliminate the enemies faster. It's important to aim for the Lawachurl and let the Abyss Mage follows as Lawachurl can be deadly if they charge at the active character.

Chamber 3

spiral abyss floor 10 chamber 3 in genshin impact
  • First Half: First, aim for the Fatui Hydrogunner to stop it from healing the enemies. Afterward, if players don't have a Hydro in the team, it's best to target the Fatui Pyroslinger before it activates its shield. The Pyroslinger also has a deadly ranged attack, so if players decide to ignore this enemy, then caution is advised. Next, defeat the Desert Clearwater as she brings the Mist Bubble debuff, which summons Hydro bubble on the field.
  • Second Half: Crowd controller can help immensely in this half as the two Electro Cicin Mages and Mirror Maiden are all far from each other. The Mirror Maiden has a large HP, so it'd be better to focus on the Electro Cicin Mages, especially since the Cicin summoned can really disturb the DPS' aim. Mirror Maiden and Electro Cicin form a great pair in Genshin Impact. The idea behind their teamwork is having the Mirror Maiden trap players with her Hydro attacks while the Cicin mage let it rain thunder upon the trapped character.

Spiral Abyss 3.5 Floor 11 - Phase 1

spiral abyss floor 11 in genshin impact

With another buff for Dendro on floor 11, it’s recommended to main DPS at least one Dendro unit on one of the two halves. Having 75% extra Dendro DMG can be a blessing on this floor in Genshin Impact.

Sample Team

  • First Half:
    • Ayaka + Venti + Shenhe + Kokomi
    • Wanderer + Faruzan + Bennett + Fischl
    • Xiao + Faruzan + Bennett + Zhongli
  • Second Half:
    • Ganyu + Nahida + Dehya + Bennett
    • Tighnari + Raiden Shogun + Kujou Sara + Zhongli
    • Alhaitham + Raiden Shogun + Collei + Zhongli

Chamber 1

spiral abyss floor 11 chamber 1 in genshin impact
  • First Half: In this chamber, players must defend the Monolith to not drop under 60% HP. On the first wave, aim for the three Linebreakers as the other Eremites will target the players. On the second wave, target the two Crushers, and for the final wave, only the Stone Enchanter will target the players, so prioritize the Sword-Dancer, then Halberdier.
  • Second Half: On contrary to the first half, this fight starts with three Mitachurls jumping on the Monolith, which makes it near impossible to stop them. The best way is to defeat them quickly and get away from the Monolith. The Lawachurl will spawn immediately after and for some reason will prioritize targeting the active character if it was near it.

Since this battle is not time-limited, after finishing all the other enemies, players can lure the Stone Enchanter (first half) and Electro Lawachurl (second half) away from the Monolith and use them to regain the team's Elemental Burst for the next chamber.

Chamber 2

spiral abyss floor 11 chamber 2 in genshin impact
  • First Half: Chamber 2 in 3.5 Spiral Abyss contains two waves of four enemies each, a group of Bathysmal Vishap and another of Shrooms. The first wave is considerably tanky, as for the second, it’s not that dangerous. Spiral Abyss teams that deal AoE DMG can take both groups with ease.
  • Second Half: This half Holds two of the tankiest monsters in Genshin Impact, the Hydro Abyss Herald, and one of the consecrated Beasts. Abyss Herald will summon a Hydro shield, so players must include Cryo or Dendro units that can continuously apply their Elements. The best units to use at this stage are characters like Ayaka and Ganyu. After defeating the Abyss Herald, the Consecrated Flying Serpent will make an appearance. It’s a tanky beast that takes a lot of DMG before falling, so strong units should be able to defeat it swiftly.

Chamber 3

spiral abyss floor 11 chamber 3 in genshin impact
  • First Half: The challenge will start with six Slimes; two Pyro, two Hydro, and two Electro. Anemo users in Genshin Impact are great to Swirl their Elements together or crowd control them. The next wave is three Nobushi and two Kairagi. As always, it's crucial to beat both Kairagi at the same time.
  • Second Half: Unlike the older Regisvine, the Electro Regisvine boss in Genshin Impact will first summon its weak point on its head, so bow Cryo, Pyro, or Dendro characters like Ganyu, Yoimiya, or Tighnari can help destroy it. Destroying the weak point reduces the boss' RES by 300%, so keep important Elemental Burst until the boss falls. It's also crucial to remember that the boss summons Waning and Waxing Stamens each time it creates/moves its weak point. Destroy these stamens before both versions exist at the same time to avoid a large Electro explosion.

Spiral Abyss 3.5 Floor 12 - Phase 1

spiral abyss floor 12 in genshin impact

Spiral Abyss floor 12 is the toughest game mode in Genshin Impact. To conquer this challenge, players must navigate through all three chambers and battle the strongest enemies and bosses. Building a powerful team and fully upgrading each unit within it are crucial elements for achieving success on this floor.

For the 3.5 Spiral Abyss, the chambers remain the same as in the previous version. However, it's worth noting that the first half of the third chamber features the ASIMON boss, who’s insanely buffed for the Abyss. Therefore, players are recommended to use a Quicken team to defeat it. On the other hand, the first two chambers are inhabited by monsters that are strong defensively against Electro attacks, meaning that a Quicken team with a Dendro main DPS is necessary for the first half. Of course, this assumes that players do not possess a team with overwhelming strength capable of breezing through the entire floor.

Sample Team

  • First Half:
    • Alhaitham + Dendro MC + Kuki Shinobu + Beidou
    • Tighnari + Fischl + Albedo + Zhongli
    • Hu Tao + Xingqiu + Yelan + Zhongli
  • Second Half:
    • Raiden Shogun + Xiangling + Xingqiu + Bennett
    • Xiao + C6 Faruzan + Zhongli + Bennett
    • Childe + Beidou + Kazuha + Yun Jin
    • Kazuha + Ayaka + Kokomi + Shenhe

Chamber 1

spiral abyss floor 12 chamber 1 in genshin impact
  • First Half: Considering the machines in this chamber spawn one by one, it’s better to use single-target DPS units like Hu Tao and Tighnari.
  • Second Half: The second half starts with three Whopperflowers, going into three Abyss Mages, and ending up with a bunch of tanky Eremites. The idea here is that enemies keep gathering in numbers, so controlling them with an Anemo user can be super effective, especially since the Abyss Mages’ shields will vanish quickly when all of them are hit together with an Anemo attack.

Chamber 2

spiral abyss floor 12 chamber 2 in genshin impact
  • First Half: The first half of chamber 2 starts with a Kairagi followed by two Consecrated Beasts. Although there are multiple enemies, single-target DPS units are still the best choice to defeat them. Preferably, Dendro is the most effective Element on this floor since it’s a key Element for Quicken and Bloom team comps in Genshin Impact. Players should also avoid using Electro and Pyro units since monsters inside this half are heavily resistant to these Elements.
  • Second Half: Many people suffered enough against the Maguu Kenki trio to know by now that it’s extremely hard to fight them without a shielder. In addition to hitting hard, they’re also super tanky, so players don’t have the time to defeat them one by one. The only way to clear this chamber on time is by using an efficient AoE team comp for the 3.5 Spiral Abyss. It's worth noting that the Cryo Kenki always follow the players around, so players can aim for the other versions and drain the Cryo Kenki's HP along the way.

Chamber 3

spiral abyss floor 12 chamber 3 in genshin impact
  • First Half: A level 100 ASIMON in Spiral Abyss 12-3 is surely intimidating. However, no matter how strong and tanky it is, the Algorithm Of Semi-Intransient Matrix Of Overseer Network is still weak to Quicken and Quicken teams disable most of what the boss can do. Players can also solely rely on Electro if they don't wish to play Quicken. Of course, for those who are confident in their DPS, completely ignoring the Dendro + Electro reaction will also be fine.
  • Second Half: Just like the previous two chambers, the second half of 12-3 contains groups of Eremites. The first wave summons three Eremites, and the second brings the remaining three. So, just like the previous two floors, using strong AoE units like Childe, Ganyu, or Xiao should get the job done.

If they fail to get a full star on one of the chambers, players can redo the fight with another team to get a better star rating. This new team only has to do well on the target chamber and doesn't have to finish the entire floor or beat the previous chambers timely.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
