In an official notice, People Can Fly shared that it is developing Gears of War: E-Day in partnership with The Coalition. The Polish studio described the opportunity to return to the long-running Gears of War series as an honor and said that it was "deeply embedded" in the company's history. People Can Fly CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski stated that it was a "privilege and an exciting opportunity" to get to collaborate on E-Day, expressing gratefulness for the "trust and support" shown by the developer's partners. Moreover, Development Director Guillaume Barry said that the team was "pouring everything" into building a game that "will exceed expectations." In addition, The Coalition's Mike Crump revealed he was "pleased" with the new team joining the project, while calling E-Day a "return to what makes Gears of War games special and authentic."

Gears of War: E-Day Reveals Co-Developer People Can Fly

While new Gears of War fans may not know about People Can Fly, the name is likely to ring a bell for fans who played 2013's Gears of War: Judgment, a game whose development was headed by the same team. As highlighted by the Warsaw-based studio, it also co-developed the Gears of War trilogy, alongside former IP owner Epic Games. Talking about more recent projects, People Can Fly shipped Outriders in 2021 to a mixed reception.

After a few years of quiet, things are once again looking exciting for Gears of War in the near future. Besides the anticipation for Gears of War: E-Day, fans have also been intrigued by the rumors of a Gears of War compilation—similar to Halo: The Master Chief Collection—being revealed by Xbox eventually. If true, it would likely be a great way for fans to reconnect with the classic games ahead of E-Day's arrival.
