The explosive popularity of ConcernedApe's Stardew Valley has inspired a seemingly endless parade of cozy farming sims, though the upcoming Grave Seasons may be one of the most interesting to date. Grave Seasons has a lot in common with Stardew Valley. It's a farming sim where players grow crops, fish, and interact with the local townsfolk. And like Stardew Valley, Grave Seasons has romance options.

A key component of Stardew Valley is romancing the townsfolk. Stardew Valley players who are successful in their romancing efforts can settle down, get married, and even have kids with their partner. Grave Seasons similarly will allow players to romance the local townsfolk, though with the twist that one of them happens to be a serial killer.

Each game of Grave Seasons will randomly pick one of the NPCs to be a serial killer. Figuring out who it is will be important, especially since players can actually find themselves romancing the killer if they're not careful. So while Grave Seasons is clearly taking inspiration from Stardew Valley and games like it, this sinister twist on the concept should certainly help it establish its own identity. Unfortunately, it's unclear exactly how long Stardew Valley fans hungering for a new experience will have to wait for the game to come out.

Unfortunately, Grave Seasons is currently without a release date. It's very early in development, so it could be a significant amount of time before fans are able to get their hands on the game. Regardless, Grave Seasons' unique concept is already generating quite a bit of buzz, and so Stardew Valley fans should definitely keep the game on their radar.

In the meantime, those who have already had their fill of Stardew Valley but are wanting a similar experience have plenty of options to choose from. There are many games to play if one likes Stardew Valley, with one of the more recent entries in the genre being Roots of Pacha. Roots of Pacha is a prehistoric twist on the Stardew Valley formula, and it has been enjoying "Very Positive" reviews on Steam so far.

Of course, Stardew Valley enthusiasts are likely very excited to see how ConcernedApe's next project turns out as well. While ConcernedApe is taking a break from Haunted Chocolatier to work on the next Stardew Valley update, there's still a great deal of hype for the new project. There should be no shortage of Stardew Valley games to play in the meantime while fans wait for more information on both Haunted Chocolatier and Grave Seasons.

Grave Seasons is in development.
