Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is a large, open-world RPG set in Westeros, but with so much freedom and so many areas to explore, players may feel overwhelmed at the beginning of their journey. This guide will suggest some tips for what players can do first with the hope of giving them the best start in Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, but players are free to do as they wish and won't fall too far behind doing their own thing.
Game of Thrones: Kingsroad - Which Class Should You Pick?
There are three classes to choose from when starting a journey in Game of Thrones: Kingsroad. Here's a rundown of each and how they operate.
What Should You Do First In Game Of Thrones: Kingsroad?
As the main way to gain EXP in Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is to complete main quests, players will mostly want to do these at the start, especially as they are easy in the early stages. Beyond gaining levels, players will also get Copper coins and other loot. The main quests will first lead players to their own estate of Renan's Rest and then to Winterfell, which are both important.
At Winterfell, players will gain access to the Altar of Memories in the Godswood and Echoes of the Past at a nearby broken Weirwood tree, where there is repeatable combat and loot. As players explore more of the map, they will see more side quests and bandit camps, which can all be used to level up, get rich, and acquire better gear.
Get Your Estate Up & Running
After completing the tutorial and arriving in Renan's Rest, players will gain access to their estate, which can be upgraded over time to provide bonuses. However, it's easy to skip over this aspect of the game and carry on with the main missions to the south.
By entering the Audience Chamber of Renan's Rest, players will find a woman called Meri. Talk to her to improve your estate. This requires small amounts of Copper, but more importantly, Building Materials, which can sometimes be looted or gained as rewards for completing quests.
To unlock some of the estate buildings, such as the forge, players will need to complete small side quests, but then they will have their own blacksmith, for example, who can craft increasingly better gear. The estate quests will, in turn, grant more rewards and teach players some aspects of the game, such as using bait to lure large beasts in.

- Read tutorials, not only to learn, but also as they grant 5 Golden Dragons each.
- Purchase upgrades for your inventory once you have enough Golden Dragons, as otherwise, you'll constantly be at max capacity and never able to loot.
- Go to a blacksmith and craft or upgrade your gear. Ideally, aim for sets of equipment as they grant bonuses.
