During a match, one Overwatch 2 player utilizes Kiriko's teleport ability at the worst moment possible. With Season 3 now here, players have been delving back into the online shooter to experience all of the new content added including the Antarctica map as well as another Battle Pass to work through. Season 3 also brings the first ever collaboration event to the Overwatch franchise with the popular manga and anime One Punch Man. Many are hoping that this is the first of many over the next few years.
For the first time since Overwatch 2 launched back in October 2022, season 3 does not introduce a new hero into the roster. One of the more popular new heroes is the support Kiriko, who was originally added alongside season 1. With high mobility and the ability to pick off opponents with her kunai, Kiriko is a common pick for those in the support queue. However, her popularity has also resulted in the discovery of strange issues as well as player made clips of some surprising moments during matches.
The latest Overwatch 2 Kiriko clip comes from a Reddit user named VNilla. The short and humorous clip shows a Kiriko player using the Swift Step ability, which lets her teleport directly to an ally in need of healing. However, after arriving at the point, the player doesn't see their teammate and instead lands right in front of an enemy Reinhardt who had already activated their Charge. The timing couldn't be more unfortunate for the Kiriko player, as the likely surprised Reinhardt player slammed right into her and eliminated her right into a nearby wall.
While there were plenty of people who lamented at VNilla's misfortune after being instantly KO'd when teleporting to a teammate, many were fixated on the fact that the player already had Kiriko's Season 3 Mythic Amaterasu cosmetic. Considering the season recently started, it's clear that this person purchased their way to the final tier in the Battle Pass which would typically cost over $100 in the first week. People seemed torn between being surprised that someone would spend that kind of money so early in the season, while others pushed back by saying people can spend their money how they want.
Either way, Kiriko has had no shortage of issues over the past few months, with even a few related to her Swift Step ability. While some players have made some impressive last second saves with it, others have found some bugs when using Kiriko's Swift Step to teleport to Echo or someone switching to a new hero at that exact moment.
Overwatch 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
