Funko Fusion is thetrigger-happy adventure game from 10:10 Games releasing in September, and the developer has recently announced the arrival of Capcom icon Mega Man. The reveal arrived in tandem with the launch of Funko Fusion's PC demo, featuring the first level set in a world inspired by John Carpenter’s 1982 horror The Thing.

Announced back in 2022, the Funko Pop title promises a crossover bonanza between several pop culture IPs, including Five Nights at Freddy’s, Masters of the Universe, and The Walking Dead. Other character additions were recently made, as Funko Fusion welcomed Invincible characters Omni-Man and Mark Grayson to the roster, showcasing their Viltrumite powers on the battlefield.

Announced through the developer’s reveal trailer, Mega Man was confirmed to be one of the playable characters in Funko Fusion’s free-to-play Steam demo, available to download now. The 40-second video showed the canon-wielding character blasting his way through a variety of locations from the full game. Additionally, the trailer confirmed players could dress Mega Man in his red and yellow alternate suit from Mega Man 11 and the hero’s Rush Suit.

10:10 Games wrote on Funko Fusion’s Steam page after the demo was released, saying “We've been working on this game for three years, and this is the first time we're inviting the public to experience it outside of recent timed convention demos!” The post also confirmed players could change into Freddy Fazbear and He-Man within the demo, in addition to Mega Man, by using the hidden Pop boxes. Furthermore, the developers recently explained the IP selection process for Funko Fusion, expanding on how the team decided which franchises to include in the game.

Mega Man is a popular Japanese franchise, accumulating over 100 video game titles under Capcom. The series has not received a new mainline entry since 2018, but Capcom addressed Mega Man’s future during the 45th Ordinary General Meeting of Capcom Shareholders. It was also noted that the sci-fi franchise had sold around 41 million copies to date, proving the undying popularity of the action platformer series spanning over 30 years.
