Anime series have enjoyed quite a successful start in 2026. Just in January, fans saw series like Fire Force and Jujutsu Kaisen premiering new seasons, and with them came Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2 as well. It goes without saying that Frieren is also a major highlight of this Winter 2026 season.

Frieren’s return has long been anticipated, and now, it's already over halfway through. In February, Frieren Season 2 is taking a short break, but it is returning with a brand new arc, called the Divine Revolte Arc. Fans are hyped up to see this action-filled but short arc finally unfold in the anime. The Divine Revolte Arc kickstarts on February 27th, 2026.

Frieren Season 2 Is Starting A New Arc On February 27, 2026

Frieren Season 2 New Arc February 27 2026

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2 has proven to be a major hit since its very first episode. Quickly, this anime series went on to become one of the highest-rated of all time, following the trend set by its predecessor season two years ago. With just 10 episodes to produce, the studio was able to do an even better job at bringing this beloved story to life, and it is quite clear to see why fans are loving it as much as they are.

Frieren Season 2 has already released 5 episodes, and it goes without saying that each one of them was incredibly well-received by fans. However, Frieren, just like Jujutsu Kaisen, is taking a short break now. On February 20, Frieren will not have a new episode, and there is a big reason for that. The anime is taking a quick break before delving into the next arc. Frieren is returning on February 27, 2026, with Season 2 Episode 6, and it is going to mark the beginning of the newest story arc of the story. That arc is a fan favorite, known as The Divine Revolte Arc. Fans have long been waiting for this arc to finally begin in the anime.

The Divine Revolte Arc Will Be One Of The Best Shonen Arcs of 2026

The Divine Revolte Arc Will Conclude Frieren Season 2

The Divine Revolte Arc Best Shonen 2026

The Divine Revolte Arc is finally beginning in Frieren Season 2, and fans are eagerly waiting for its arrival in the anime. Its quality is such that many would argue that it is one of the best arcs of Frieren. The Divine Revolte Arc is quite short, and in the anime, it will span over 5 episodes, but despite that, it will be an exciting ride.

  • This arc will be filled with incredible action, with characters like Stark especially up in the spotlight. This arc will also introduce the long-awaited Demon General villain, Revolte. The return of Season 1 characters, like Genau and Metho is also anticipated, as seen in the new key visual.

Furthermore, as is the case with any Frieren episodes, it is certainly going to feature amazing animation and direction. This anime arc is about to elevate what the Frieren manga has already delivered to a whole new level. It could definitely be said that the Divine Revolte Arc is about to be one of 2026's best shonen anime arcs, given the quality of the story and the adaptation. Not only that, but this arc is about to conclude Frieren's long-awaited second season. This arc is the best point to end the season, and it'll set up even better things for the future of the series.

Frieren Fans Have A Long Wait Ahead After Season 2

frieren season 3 long wait

Fans are incredibly excited for the Divine Revolte Arc of Frieren to finally begin. Sadly, it might just be the last Frieren story arc that fans get for quite a while. As fans know, there was over a 2-year-long wait between Frieren Season 1 and Frieren Season 2. In that sense, it could very well be that Frieren Season 3 won't be coming anytime soon. Furthermore, with the anime catching up with the manga rapidly, the wait might be even longer this time around. The anime might need to give the manga more time to breathe and move ahead. Sadly, this could be difficult at the moment with the creators facing recurring health issues, forcing them to go on long hiatuses. Arcs such as The Golden Land Arc, and everything that comes after could take a long time to be animated. As such, fans could instead choose to pick up the Frieren manga and hope for the mangaka’s health to improve.
