Although it has been sixteen years since the final episode of the popular sitcom Friends aired on television, the show remains to be popular and has since captivated the interest of viewers once again. Last February, fans of the show received some exciting news, with the confirmation of a special that will see the reunion of the cast of Friends.
Initially, it had been announced that the special reunion will be delayed until May 2020, given that production was halted as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. Now, it has been confirmed that the Friends reunion special has been delayed indefinitely, due to the global lockdown that had a heavy impact on production.
The reunion was supposed to launch alongside the HBO Max streaming service in May, but due to the strict home quarantine and social distancing measures that are being implemented right now, filming of the Friends special reunion has not been able to take place.
Due to this, a representative from HBO Max confirmed that the show will be unable to meet its May release date, but all 10 seasons of Friends will still be available on HBO Max at launch. For years now, fans have asked and waited for a cast reunion of the popular TV show. Hopefully, the production of the Friends reunion will resume as soon as the threat of the COVID-19 outbreak has been contained.
