According to a new leak, Forza Horizon 6 could be releasing as early as May 2026. This leak comes courtesy of Xbox Infinite on X, who has shared an alleged in-game screenshot that lists Forza Horizon 6's Premium Edition contents as well as its early access dates, which in turn point to a potential worldwide release date.

The Forza Horizon subseries has come a long way since its debut in 2012. An open-world spinoff series that trades Forza Motorsport's grounded and realistic driving mechanics for more arcade-y racing action, each entry in the Forza Horizon series has earned almost universal acclaim, with 2021's Forza Horizon 5 earning the best reviews of the lot, currently sitting at a 92 Top Critic Average on OpenCritic and having earned three 2021 Game Awards.

After a five-year hiatus, Forza Horizon is set to return this year, and fans are expecting it to be bigger and better than ever. At long last, Forza Horizon 6 will finally be taking fans to the much-requested setting of Japan, letting them drive around iconic locations like Mount Fuji and Tokyo city. And if the latest Forza Horizon 6 leak is true, then fans could be driving around Japan sooner than they might have thought.

Forza Horizon 6 Has Bad News for PlayStation Players

Microsoft has bad news for PlayStation gamers who were hyped to play Forza Horizon 6, the next entry in the popular open-world racing series.

Recent Forza Horizon 6 Leak Gives It a May 19, 2026 Release Date

On January 14, X user Xbox Infinite (@XboxF10) posted an alleged in-game screenshot of Forza Horizon 5. This screenshot shows a pre-order pop-up for Forza Horizon 6, stating that fans can earn a "pre-tuned and exclusive Ferrari J50" if they pre-purchase the upcoming racing game. This leaked pop-up also states that Forza Horizon 6 will offer "550 real-world cars." But, of course, the most intriguing part of this leaked pop-up can be found just below this text, in the section that reportedly lists Forza Horizon 6's Premium Edition contents.

The first pop-up bullet point states that purchasing the Premium Edition of Forza Horizon 6 will grant players 4 days of early access, which will begin on May 15. This would imply that Forza Horizon 6's official release date is May 19, 2026. While all leaks and rumors should always be taken with a hefty pinch of salt, Xbox has previously offered similar early access bonuses for pre-orders of first-party premium editions, such as Starfield and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. A May 2026 release window for Forza Horizon 6 would also fit with leaker Nate The Hate's comments from November 2025 that claim FH6 is targeting the "first half" of 2026.

It's important to note, however, that no other outlet has been able to get this Forza Horizon 5 in-game pop-up to appear. The Verge's Tom Warren replied to Xbox Infinite's X post asking where the pop-up appeared, to which the original poster replied, "It appeared when I left the garage and before I started taking delivery of my car." In its report of this leak, Xbox Era also stated that it couldn't get the pop-up to appear in Forza Horizon 5.

Thankfully, it shouldn't be long before fans find out if there's any truth to these leaks. Forza Horizon 6 is confirmed to be on the lineup for the Xbox Developer Direct on January 22, so there's a strong chance its release date is officially confirmed there, especially if its actual launch window is planned to be as early as May. Generally speaking, May 2026 would be a good spot for Forza Horizon 6, with Grand Theft Auto 6 having vacated the month entirely, and 007 First Light and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight taking up just the last few days of the month.

Everything (Allegedly) Included in Forza Horizon 6's Premium Edition

According to this Forza Horizon 6 leak, purchasing the Premium Edition of the racing game will also give players the following in-game rewards:

  • VIP Membership
  • Welcome Pack
  • Car Pass
  • Time Attack Car Pack
  • Italian Passion Car Pack (coming post-launch)
  • 2 Premium Expansions (coming post-launch)
