Hide and Seek, a new game mode for Forza Horizon 5, has just been announced at Gamescom 2024. Forza Horizon 5 received a new update in August that introduced four new race routes, collectibles, and reward vehicles, among other things.
Released in November 2021, Forza Horizon 5 is the latest entry in developer Playground Games' popular series of arcade-style racing titles. Plenty of fresh content has been added to the game since its launch through free updates, vehicle packs, and two major expansions, including Forza Horizon 5's Rally Adventure DLC that was released in March last year. As the acclaimed racing title nears its third anniversary, Playground Games has revealed a new game mode for Forza Horizon 5 that is based on a classic children's game.
Hide and Seek is an upcoming multiplayer mode for Forza Horizon 5 that will pit one Hider against five Seekers. The mode, which was unveiled to the public during Xbox's August 21 presentation at Gamescom 2024, will become available to Forza Horizon 5 players for free in September. Hide and Seek's announcement comes after it was reported in July that Forza Horizon 5 had managed to reach 40 million cumulative players. Playground Games' latest release continues to be included in the list of most played games on Xbox's Game Pass subscription service. It is also one of the most popular racing titles on Steam, according to data provided by SteamDB.
Widely considered by many as one of the best open-world racing games of all time, Forza Horizon 5 has been praised for its impressive visuals, rich environments, and solid gameplay. The title has received all sorts of accolades since it was launched, including Best Sports/Racing Game and Racing Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2021 and 25th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards, respectively.
In addition to Forza Horizon 5's new Hide and Seek game mode, there were a lot of other revelations at this year's Gamescom. Among these was a new entry in the Mafia series called Mafia: The Old Country that is set to be released in 2025, as well as a new trailer for Capcom's upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds.
