A new Halloween event comes to Fortnite, and once again Fortnitemares brings special guests, new weapons, and frights to behold. In Fortnite’s Fortnitemares 2023, players can get their hands on the Wood Stake Shotgun, the perfect gun for dealing with those pesky vampires of modern times, considering it shoots out wooden stakes to impale the hearts of the undead bloodsuckers. Yet, with only one vampire actually in Fortnite’s Chapter 4, Season 4, most are just using it to get the Victory Royale.

Some players might be asking if the Wood Stake Shotgun is any good, or where to find such a weapon, and rest assured that this guide will cover just that. The annual Fortnite Halloween event sticks to the current theme of having a vampire as the main villain, and truth be told, it’s fairly good against non-vampires alike.

Where To Get The Wood Stake Shotgun

The Wood Stake Shotgun is not a hard weapon to find, as players have a random chance of finding it as floor loot, in chests, or holo-chests. The Wood Stake shotgun comes in Rare, Epic, and Legendary rarities. Players can purchase an Epic Wood Stake Shotgun for 250 Gold Bars from the Joni the Red at Kenjutsu Crossing, an NPC in Chapter 4, Season 4.

There’s also a Mythic version of the gun called the High Stake’s Shotgun. There’s a chance players can obtain the High Stake’s Shotgun by killing Revenant Kado Thorne. The weapon itself features bolstered stats. The Wood Stake Shotgun feels very much like the classic Heavy from past Fortnite seasons, and since it fires Wood Stakes, there’s little damage drop-off, and 4 pieces of ammunition in a magazine.

Wood Stake Shotgun Stats

Shotgun: Fires wooden stakes that deal significant damage at close ranges. Created to fight vampires and the undead – but still good against most things.

The Wood Stake Shotgun won’t change the meta, but it’s a fun weapon worth trying for Fortnitemares 2023. The damage is good, but players need to be accurate with their shots, as there’s less spread, and the weapon fires rather slowly with its 4 rounds.
