Fortnite: Where to Find Turrets

With Week 7 of Chapter 3 Season 2 comes new weekly quests for Fortnite, allowing players to gain large amounts of XP to level up their Battle Pass. This week’s quests challenge players to use a variety of the new and returning items in Fortnite to take down enemies and destroy items across the map. While some can be trickier than others, one quest can be completed relatively easily when armed with the right weapon and knowledge.

This week, Loopers must use Remote Explosives to destroy a Turret, which should prove rather simple, though it requires a bit of luck and tests players’ expertise of Fortnite’s frequently changing map. This guide will show players where to find Remote Explosives and Turrets in Week 7 to help complete the challenge.

Where to Find Remote Explosives

Remote Explosives first appeared in Fortnite’s third season before being vaulted and only making occasional appearances since. Now available once again, they are weapons of Purple rarity which come in stacks of 3, with a max stack of 6 per inventory slot, making them a little cumbersome and tricky to find. Luckily, they can be looted from any chest or supply crate and found as floor loot, so players shouldn’t have too much difficulty tracking some down in larger named locations like Command Cavern or Tilted Towers.

To deploy them, hold the fire button to see the throwing arc and release it to launch them. There they will stay until players use the aim button to detonate them.

Where to Find Turrets

Once Loopers have acquired the Explosives, they’ll need to find a Turret and destroy it with the Explosives to complete the challenge. Turrets can be found scattered all across the map in Chapter 3 Season 2, though the best place to find them is on Airships in IO-occupied territory. As of Week 7, the only Airships remaining on the map are located at Tilted Towers and Command Cavern.

The Turrets on these IO Airships can be found on the outside walkways on either side of the blimp, between the two fans. Alternatively, players can visit the Turrets atop the mountain at Command Cavern, beside the radar dish. Destroy any one of these Turrets with the Remote Explosives to earn a crisp 20K XP and get that much closer to unlocking the high-level cosmetics for this season.
