How to Find Gold Chickens in Fortnite

Fortnite's v29.01 garnered mixed reception from the community, considering that it was a much smaller update as compared to the regular updates. That being said, there is still plenty of new stuff that has been added to the game.

One of the major highlights of the Fortnite update, apart from the Rise of Midas event, has been the addition of Golden Chickens and Eggs. Gold Bars are always much sought after, and fans have now got an all-new way to get these rare items in the game.

What Rewards Do You Get From Golden Chickens & Eggs?

Both Golden Chicken and Golden Eggs give Gold Bars as rewards to players. While Golden Chickens give much less amount of Gold Bars, it's the Golden Eggs that are quite lucrative. Each of these eggs is laid by the various Golden Chickens on the map, and they offer players a whopping 350 Gold Bars per egg. In short, one of these eggs should be enough for players to purchase almost any service in the game, including a high-rarity weapon from a Midas Vending Machine.

On the contrary, the Golden Chickens merely drop 12 Gold Bars upon killing them. Considering that the Golden Eggs offer quite good value, it makes it a tricky decision as to whether players should kill the Golden Chickens or not. While these Golden Eggs are indeed laid by the Golden Chickens, there is no set pattern as to when they will drop them.

Players also have the option to hold the Golden Chickens which will allow them to jump much higher. While this can be done with regular chickens as well, it is probably not a bad idea to use these for that purpose if players want to traverse around the map quickly, and then later kill them for the Gold Bar rewards.

Fencing Fields
Pleasant Piazza
Restored Reels
Reckless Railways
Snooty Steppes

However, players should keep in mind that when it comes to the location of Golden Chickens and Eggs, there is no guaranteed spot to find them as they spawn randomly across the map.

Golden Chickens seem to spawn much more around the farms near POIs in the game, precisely around the Fencing Fields region. Gamers should be able to spot a Golden Chicken without much trouble if they look closely around this area. Apart from this, players can also look around Pleasant Plaza and Snooty Steppes, as these creatures seem to spawn there as well.

As far as Golden Eggs are concerned, those are also found in areas where Golden Chickens are found, although they are a bit more rare. Once again, Fencing Fields seem to be the best spot for these as well, but players should look thoroughly around the farms in the game.
