The four turtles and April O'Neil were the first TMNT skins to make it into the game, but now it seems players will be able to get their hands on other cosmetics with the upcoming Cowabunga event. This article will tell players everything they need to know about the Fortnite x TMNT crossover event, including when it's coming and what to expect.

TMNT Cowabunga Event Release Time

Since Fortnite is a game that receives a lot of updates, leakers are constantly going through the game files and trying to figure out what's coming next. Recent leaks indicated that a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event would be taking place soon, and it should start between update v28.20 and v28.30.

Epic Games has now confirmed the release date of the TMNT event in Fortnite, and players can expect it to go live on Friday, February 9 at 9 AM ET.

A TMNT tab is currently available in-game in preparation for the Cowabunga event. For the time being, it only has a countdown, so players can keep track of how long they still have to wait for the event, but once it hits zero, everything will be revealed.

What to Expect From the Cowabunga Event

Fortnite has hosted several crossover events before. Last year, the Find the Force event allowed players to enjoy May the 4th in-game with a celebratory mini Battle Pass. Jujutsu Kaisen and Dragon Ball have also been given the same treatment, so it is likely that the TMNT Cowabunga event will include a mini Battle Pass.

These mini Battle Passes tend to have a Free Track and a Premium Track. While players get to unlock themed cosmetics with the Free Track, they can get access to even better items if they purchase the Premium Track. Leaks have hinted that Shredder will be coming to Fortnite, and it is believed that he will be available as a Premium Track unlockable skin for those who complete enough Cowabunga event quests.
