A leak of upcoming Fortnite shop sections reveals that Epic Games is planning to offer its Walking Dead collaboration skins for sale again. Fortnite is constantly removing and adding content from its in-game shop. With such frequent collaborations, like the recent Hulk skin release and the upcoming My Hero Academia partnership, there are many skins fans would love to see in the shop again. The Walking Dead television show collaboration is one popular skin release fans have been looking forward to returning for some time.Fortnite's Walking Dead collaboration first started two years ago. Two popular characters from the TV show, Michonne and Daryl Dixon, had skins released via a Chapter 2: Season 5 Survivors in Arms Bundle on December 17, 2020. During Chapter 2: Season 8, Epic Games announced its second round of the Walking Dead collaboration. Joining Michonne and Daryl was Rick Grimes, available in his own bundle in celebration of Fortnite's Fortnightmares Halloween event. Now Epic Games seems prepared to bring its Walking Dead skins back yet again. The latest Fortnite update revealed various upcoming shop sections planned for the next several months. Two of those categories are named Holiday Favorites and Survivors in Arms. The Survivors in Arms category is explicitly tied to the Walking Dead skins, or at least the Michonne and Daryl Walking Dead skins. The Holiday Favorites could bring back all three as part of a Fortnitemares category.
The Walking Dead skins aren't the only ones revealed to be returning, however. Other leaked categories include Dragon Ball, Star Wars, Marvel, and 2022 Favorites. The Dragon Ball collaboration was recent but was also an instant favorite. Both Star Wars and Marvel categories are some of Fortnite's most successful categories, as well. It's not so big of a surprise to see any of those other categories returning.
As for when these returning Fortnite categories will arrive, there's unfortunately no information available. The leaks only reveal the categories and not Epic Games' planned release schedule. Any of these could arrive next week or in several months, given how volatile Epic's plans for Fortnite can be week-to-week. As is ever the case for Fortnite players, patience is a virtue.
These leaked categories also aren't all of Epic's plans for the next several months, either. More categories, for skins both new and old, can and will be added week-to-week going forward. While Epic isn't great at protecting secrets, it does know how to hold some things back until the right time to reveal them.
Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
