Not even a week into the start of Chapter 4 Season 3 and Fortnite has already vaulted the Red-Eye Assault Rifle to bring something new to the weapon pool. Fortnite been out of early access for a while, and despite being fully launched, the game still receives tons of content additions as well as constant updates. This way, Epic Games can assure its fans that while the game is active, it'll continue to receive plenty of patches to shake things up.Chapter 4 Season 3 introduced several weapons to Fortnite, and many players are still getting familiar with every new item. From Wildwasps to the Cybertron Cannon, this jungle-themed season has it all, and there are weapons to fit just about any gamestyle. However, Epic Games wasn't happy with the changes just yet, and so it decided to make some modifications only a couple of days into Season 3. Players will no longer be able to include the Red-Eye Assault Rifle in their inventory slots, as it has just been vaulted from Fortnite. The official Fortnite Status account revealed its removal on June 13, and in the same post, it also mentioned that a new weapon would be added in its place; fans will now encounter the new MK-Alpha Assault Rifle instead. This weapon is similar to the now-vaulted MK-Seven Assault Rifle.
It's likely that this change in the weapon pool won't stir up the metagame too much. At the moment, the lack of mobility items in Fortnite is what fans are most concerned about when it comes to the game's competitive scene. The Chapter 4 map is huge, and since Epic Games vaulted the Kinetic Blade, the ODM Gear, and the Spider-Verse Web-Shooters, the three of the most popular ways to navigate the map, gamers have been having a hard time dealing with only being able to use cars and bikes to move around.
Fortnite WILDS is a completely different concept compared to last season's Fortnite MEGA. Epic Games has been making these small changes to try and get the game to its more optimal state and keep it as balanced as possible. Some fans had a different point of view on this decision and were quite happy to see that mobility items in Fortnite were cut back this season.
Fortnite is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
