Summary

  • Krang's Android skin has a secret variant only visible when equipped with Krang back bling.
  • The back bling is exclusive to the TMNT event pass, disappointing players who missed out.
  • Event and Battle Pass items may become available in the future for purchase in the Item Shop.

Krang's Android, one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles skins added to Fortnite in the Item Shop refresh following update v34.40, includes a secret variant, but it is not within reach for everyone who gets this cosmetic. Fortnite first collaborated with TMNT back in December 2023, during Chapter 5 Season 1, when the four turtles hit the Item Shop for the first time. However, later on, Epic Games released the Cowabunga TMNT event, and Splinter and Shredder also became part of the pool of cosmetic items available in Fortnite. Even though fans had already received more than a handful of TMNT skins, many still felt that there were a lot more characters that deserved to make it onto the game.

On April 22, 2025, the last update of Chapter 6 Season 2 went live. During downtime, leakers were able to dig deep into the game files and decrypt the skins that would be coming to the game in the next couple of weeks. Many players were overjoyed when it was confirmed that another wave of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles characters was coming to Fortnite. Later that night, when the Item Shop refreshed in Fortnite, the brand-new TMNT skins, alongside their cosmetic set and the Turtle Van car body, appeared in the game.

Fortnite could be crossing over with Knight Rider.
Fortnite Leak Reveals Crossover With a Popular 80’s TV Show

A prominent Fortnite leaker reveals that Epic Games' popular battle royale could be getting a crossover with an iconic 80's television series.

Krang's Android is one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles villains in the Item Shop. For 1,600 V-Bucks, players receive Krang's Android skin, its LEGO style, Krang's War Cry emote, and the Dimension Axe pickaxe - but that's not all. Recently, it was discovered the Krang's Android skin has a secret style that can only be seen if the player equips the Krang back bling while wearing the skin. If they do this, Krang will be attached to the Android's back instead of his stomach, like the standard style. On top of this, the android's stomach chute will also be shut entirely. However, there's a catch - the secret style for Krang's Android is currently only available for players who obtained Krang as a back bling last year.

How to Get Krang's Android Secret Style in Fortnite

  • Equip the Krang back bling while wearing the Krang's Android skin

While some gamers were happy to see Epic Games release this skin with the already existing back bling in mind, others were disappointed to find out that the back bling is currently exclusive to the Cowabunga event pass released back in February 2024. Players had to complete enough Splinter's Plan Quests while the pass was live to collect blueprints and get their hands on Krang.

Players who missed out on the Krang back bling in Fortnite when it was originally released will be happy to know that event and Battle Pass items are no longer exclusive to their time of release. In the future, the Krang back bling might become available again for a price in the Item Shop.
