Summary
- Epic Games surveys fans on potential Fortnite skins, with one skin appearing to have a design making fun of AI art.
- The AI skin has caused a stir with its unsettling design featuring deformed hands, potentially fitting for Fortnitemares.
Epic Games has issued surveys featuring possible upcoming Fortnite cosmetic items, and fans are finding the AI art-inspired skin particularly funny. Fortnite may be free-to-play, but there are tons of ways that gamers can spend their money on it. Every day, the Item Shop is reset to showcase a new array of skins. There are thousands of cosmetics available in Fortnite, and the list grows each year. This is why the Shop has grown to become so extensive over the years; in Chapter 1, it featured six to eight cosmetics a day. Nowadays, it has over 10 pages for players to check with all sorts of skins and other cosmetics.
To make sure that players are happy with new skins that might make it onto the Item Shop, Epic Games tends to do fan surveys to get its audience's opinion on some of the designs the team is working on. Several of the designs featured in these surveys eventually became a reality and were sold in the Item Shop or added to the Battle Pass, and it's become an increasingly common practice. Therefore, whenever players see a sheet featuring new survey skins, they can be almost certain that those that were well-received will be part of the game at some point.
Epic Games Addresses Fortnite Movie Rumors
Epic Games responds to rumors of a Fortnite movie potentially being in production, sparking further discussion among players.
The latest survey skins have been brought to the attention of the community, thanks to user j2shuaa on Twitter, and gamers were particularly focused on a skin that attempts to tease artificial intelligence art. There are several parts of the design that make it clear that it's replicating the most common AI design mistakes, but these are mostly subtle details; what truly gives it away is how the hands are drawn - AI art's Achilles heel. The character has three hands, a normal hand in its pocket and two deformed hands with several extra fingers attached in strange places. It is definitely one of the most unsettling skin designs in Fortnite.
How Many Skins Were Shown in the 2025 Fortnite Survey?
- 34
Given how off-putting this design is, it could be a potential skin for Fortnitemares in October. However, whether or not it's ever released depends on how those selected to take the survey received it and if it makes sense to add it to the game.
According to Fortnite.gg, there are nearly 350 unreleased survey skins, but plenty have already been added to Fortnite, usually for some reason or another. Those that have been made available as part of the Battle Pass were somehow connected to the season's theme. Some were related to the current story or season of the year, and thus given away as part of the Fortnite Crew Pack. Lastly, other skins were simply sold in the Item Shop and weren't necessarily connected to any Fortnite lore and storylines. For now, players who are interested in the parody AI skin will simply have to wait to learn more information.
