Summary
- A Fortnite survey hints at a Kratos skin from 2005's God of War coming to the game.
- The new potential skin is likely inspired by the young, aggressive Kratos from the older games.
- A Greek mythology theme is expected in the next season.
A new Fortnite survey has revealed that God of War's Kratos may be returning to the game soon. This possibility would line up with the supposed theme of Fortnite's next season.
For the last couple of months, rumors and leaks have claimed that Fortnite's Chapter 5 Season 2 update, which is expected to launch soon on March 8, will implement a Greek mythology theme. This theme seems basically confirmed after Fortnite recently introduced an in-game event based on Pandora's Box, a popular concept from Greek mythology. It seems that Fortnite fans might see an additional, more modern idea added to the game that is inspired by the ancient tradition.
Fortnite: How to Prepare for the End of Chapter 5 Season 4
Chapter 5 ends on November 2, and there is plenty for gamers to do before Fortnite moves on to the next season.
Established Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR explained that a new Epic Games survey asked about players' opinions on 2005's God of War. They further detailed that these surveys often ask about topics that are planned to be added to Fortnite as future collaborations, suggesting that the young Kratos character seen in the original game may be added to the battle royale in the future. The potential skin could be added as part of a new bundle in Fortnite's in-game shop or as part of a mid-season battle pass update that allows users to unlock him by completing various quests, similar to Fortnite's recent Metal Gear Solid collaboration. It seems unlikely that the new Kratos skin will be part of Fortnite's standard battle pass come next season, although it's still possible at this point.
New Kratos Skin Possibly Coming to Fortnite
- Fortnite survey asked users about 2005's God of War
- This suggests that a young Kratos skin inspired by the game could be added in the future
Fortnite previously added a Kratos skin back in 2020 that was based on his appearance in recent God of War games. The older Kratos skin hasn't been seen in Fortnite's shop in almost three years, making him a pretty rare commodity. The Kratos-themed bundle came with popular items from recent games such as the Leviathan Axe and Guardian Shield, so it seems likely that the next bundle could feature popular items from the 2005 title.
Kratos has undergone plenty of changes since his introduction almost 20 years ago. It seems that the new skin, which is still unconfirmed, would be based on his younger, beardless appearance seen in the original game. In addition to visual differences, his personality in older games was much more aggressive and ruthless, partially due to him not embracing the role of fatherhood yet.
Recently, Fortnite leakers also revealed a new weapon that is possibly coming in the game's next season. The new DMR comes in all five rarities and has pretty decent stats, although it's important to note that its release date is still unconfirmed.
