Summary
- Fortnite's Star Wars-themed season is shorter than usual and will end 12 hours earlier than scheduled.
- All standard weapons were replaced with Star Wars-themed ones, causing a shift in gameplay.
- It remains to be seen if Chapter 6 Season 3 will begin sooner because of this change.
Fortnite has moved up the end time of the already short Star Wars-themed season. When Chapter 6 Season 2 ended, players thought that Season 3 would begin right after. However, that was not the case, and instead, Fortnite took a break from its storyline and focused on an exciting collab. While fans are used to Epic Games joining forces with Star Wars for a themed event during the month of May, due to the May the 4th celebrations, they were not expecting a full-fledged mini-season dedicated to the franchise.
Galactic Battle, the Star Wars-themed season in Fortnite's Battle Royale game mode, took things to a whole new level. All standard weapons were vaulted and replaced with lightsabers and Star Wars weapons. There was a complete gameplay shift because of this, as gamers were able to change their priorities while looting. Since this season's weapons overheat, they don't require ammunition, which is why ammo and ammo boxes were removed from Battle Royale for the first time ever.
When Does Mace Windu Come to Fortnite?
The oppression of the Sith will never return so long as players grab Mace Windu and his Star Wars cosmetics set to release in the Fortnite Item Shop.
While gamers may be enjoying this season, it's only a month long, meaning it will only last about a third of the usual time, and now, it will be even shorter, as the end time has been moved up 12 hours. It might not seem like much, but most players will lose a day's worth of playing, as downtime won't start during the early morning hours like initially planned; it'll start in the afternoon of the day before. While gamers expected they would have the entirety of June 7 to play Fortnite and then sleep through downtime once it started on June 8, it will now begin on June 7 at 2 PM ET.
When Does the Star Wars Season End in Fortnite?
- Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET / 7 PM UTC
Additionally, it is unknown how long the downtime will last. Chapter 6 Season 3 could start at the same time as it was supposed to before the new schedule was revealed, or it could be moved up to June 7 as well. Since there is only information on the end time of Galactic Battle, gamers won't be able to plan ahead of time so they can be ready for the start of Chapter 6 Season 3.
Since Galactic Battle is shorter than fans initially expected, gamers have less time to complete the Battle Pass. Therefore, if players want to get every item in the Galactic Battle Pass and in the Bonus Rewards tab, they should focus on earning XP by playing Creative Islands and Save the World and completing as many quests as they can.
