Epic Games revealed a long-awaited collaboration coming to Fortnite; it's none other than Squid Game, and fans are eager to learn more. Fortnite's Creative mode allows players to set their imagination free and make all sorts of creations, especially since the introduction of Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). There are various kinds of maps and islands for players to try out in Fortnite Creative, whether they're playing by themselves or with a group of friends.
One of the most popular games in Fortnite Creative consists of recreations of the deadly challenges in Squid Game. There are several Squid Game islands in Fortnite, but there is one that undoubtedly stands out: Octo Game 2. The creator of Octo Game 2, sundaycw, made an almost perfect replica of several scenarios seen in Squid Game, making it possible for players to compete for the number one spot just like in the Netflix show.
LEGO Releases New Fortnite Sets
LEGO is rolling out three brand-new sets based on Fortnite, including multiple fan-favorite skins and special in-game rewards for players.
While the creator-made islands built from scratch are great fun, there is no doubt that creators could come up with even more exciting maps if they had access to assets from the actual show. According to Epic Games' announcement during the State of Unreal 2025 presentation, Fortnite and Squid Game are coming together for a collaboration and officially bringing one of the most popular Netflix IPs to Unreal Editor for Fortnite. The UEFN tools are set to release on June 27, so they'll be available a few weeks into Chapter 6 Season 3.
When Is Squid Game Coming to Fortnite?
- June 27, 2025
This news is exciting for fans who enjoy playing challenging party games in Fortnite Creative, but what many are truly curious about is whether or not Squid Game will make it into other game modes as well as the Item Shop. Gamers have been wanting Squid Game skins in Fortnite ever since they laid eyes on the Pink Guards' masks and the contestants' tracksuits, as they'd make awesome cosmetics.
The Fortnite Competitive account commented on Fortnite's Squid Game teaser, which immediately sparked curiosity among the community. The comment led fans to believe that there could be a real competitive side to this event. Fortnite is no stranger to rewarding fans with money for participating in competitions. In Squid Game, contestants participate for a chance to win a large quantity of money, and as more players meet their demise, the prize pool goes up. It would be interesting to see Epic Games host a virtual Squid Game show, where participants could join for a chance to earn V-Bucks or even real money.
