However, Fortnite fans may be more excited by the news of the game's Siphon mechanic making a return. Siphon makes moment-to-moment gameplay more dynamic, granting players health and shields by dishing out damage. Not only does this eliminate the need to carry shield potions or medkits, but it also encourages players to be aggressive and to seek out enemies on the map. Siphon made a slight return in Fortnite's latest season, though the mechanic will seemingly make a full comeback next year in the form of trials.

Fortnite Bringing Back Siphon Trials

Fortnite first introduced Siphon back in 2018 as a limited-time game mode. All shield and health consumables were removed, forcing players to be aggressive and seek out others in order to gain a shield. A total of 50 shields or health were granted upon each kill. This feature became one of Fortnite's most popular additions, though it did not find a permanent home in the online free-to-play game. However, interest in next year's Fortnite FNCS event will surely spike with the return of Siphon.

While this event may not start until 2025, players have a lot to enjoy in Fortnite's current season, Absolute Doom. This Marvel-themed season kicked off in August, propelling Fortnite players into a world dominated by the legendary comic book bad guy Doctor Doom. A variety of new items, like Captain America's Shield and Fortnite' s new War Machine's Arsenal, were added to the loot pool, making hunting for Avengers Chests a priority for those wanting to make themselves as powerful as possible. Several new map areas were also added, like Doomstadt and Castle Doom. Chapter 5 Season 4 of Fortnite ends on November 2, 2025.
