The Ship in a Bottle isn't the easiest item to find or use, and some players might need to know the specifics, or whether to avoid it completely. What is clear with this weapon is that players can threaten the vehicle-mayhem that features in Chapter 5 Season 3's meta.

How to Get the Ship in a Bottle

The Ship in a Bottle acts as a pretty rare Mythic item, as it's only got one charge, and there are specific ways in which players can acquire them. The first, and the easiest way, is to venture to Jack Sparrow. Jack acts as an NPC that will roam the far East of the map, by the cliffs that follow South of Grand Glacier. Speaking to Jack will allow players to purchase 1 Ship in a Bottle for 200 Gold Bars.

Luckily for players, there isn't just one Ship in a Bottle that can be found. Players can head to all of the Pirates of the Caribbean NPCs in Fortnite to purchase a Treasure Map for 300 Gold Bars. This Buried Treasure Map will show players where the X literally marks the spot so that they can use their pickaxe to dig for a chest that will always contain a Ship in a Bottle.

There are four Pirates of the Caribbean NPCs that sell Buried Treasure maps, and they can be found below:

Captain Barbossa - Shipwreck Shallows
Davy Jones - East of The Underworld
Elizabeth Swann - Pleasant Piazza
Jack Sparrow - East of Summit Temple and South of Grand Glacier

Outside of these guaranteed ways to get the Ship in a Bottle, players can try their luck at floor loot, as well as chests and Rare chests to see if RNG is on their side.

How to Use the Ship in a Bottle

The Ship in a Bottle is a utility item that can only be used once. However, players can carry multiple of them, even though they do not stack, which means they will have to have free slots in their inventory for a few.

With the Ship in a Bottle equipped, players can activate it by pressing R2/RT/Left-Click, which will see their character throw it into the ground. Instantly, a cursed ship will rise from the depths, and sail through air or land at a slow speed. During this ship cruise, players can use their weapons as normal, but the speed and timer of the Ship in a Bottle is extremely quick, so it's best used as a bull-rush item.

The Ship in a Bottle will deal 50 damage to everyone it hits, and it will also deal 5,000 damage to every structure it comes into contact with, allowing for nothing to stop its destructive path. Whilst it's pretty efficient at destroying everything in its path, the Mythic does not last long at all, and there's nothing to stop players from getting shot in the crow's nest of the ship.
