In the hours leading up to the pirate-themed Fortnite Season 8, it appears that players are getting their first glimpse at the new skins via the Xbox dashboard. Unfortunately, this leak doesn't tell us the name of these new skins, but that hasn't stopped them from being passed around on the internet like hotcakes. Many may also recall that this is not the first leak to occur via this medium, as players were given a glimpse at season 5 skins in this manner.
This first glimpse gives us a tattooed heroine, a Deadpool-like ninja with what appears to be a dragon on its shoulder, and another ninja-like character with a golden tiger mask. It's unclear how these characters will fit into the teased pirate theme of the forthcoming season 8, but the golden tiger character has also been previously teased by the beast promotion for season 8.
It's worth mentioning that this game icon featuring a few characters in Fortnite is typical from season to season, so there could be more derived from it. These images usually feature the tier 1 Battle Pass skins or the tier 100 skin, with season 7's icon featuring all three, season 6's icon featuring just one of the tier 1 skins, and season 5's promos having Drift at the center. This could mean that the below skins could fill one of those roles, but which is unknown at the time of this writing.
Fortnite season 8 will begin shortly, and many are likely wondering about all the new changes this season, especially those who earned the Battle Pass for free by completing Overtime challenges. It's worth mentioning that the end date for season 8 has already leaked as well, so players already have a lot of info just ahead of the official launch.
Furthermore, we also know that a new vehicle is in the works, which is likely meant to replace the vault Stormwing plane. A map change is also practically a guarantee, with the earthquakes likely tied into this aspect of season 8. Recent rumors and speculation indicate this change could be happening around Wailing Woods, given the events of season 7, so eagle-eyed players may want to take note to see if this is true when dropping on the new Fortnite battle island.
