There are a couple of new quests in Fortnite Season 8 that require players to interact with IO Guards in some capacity. The first step toward completing these challenges is to find the releveant NPCs, and indeed some fans may be uncertain about exactly where they should look for IO Guards in Fortnite. Fortunately, there are several spots that are suitable for tackling these tasks, and this guide is here to point players in the right direction.
Before getting into the locations of the IO Guards in Fortnite Season 8, it is worth mentioning that these NPCs do not respawn during matches. As such, if a player travels to one of the spots shown below only to discover that no IO Guards are present, it likely means that they have already been eliminated by an opponent. If that situation arises, fans will either need to travel to another IO Guard location or simply look again in a subsequent match.
Where to Find IO Guards in Fortnite Season 8
With respect to where the IO Guards can be found, there are five IO Outposts scattered across Fortnite’s map. These Outposts manifest as small metal structures, and their precise positions are indicated on the following map. Notably, it is typical that two Guards will spawn at each Outpost, which is the perfect number for those players that are working on the “eliminate IO Guards” challenge for Charlotte.
- East of Pleasant Park
- North of Dirty Docks
- South of Holly Hedges
- Northwest of Lazy Lake
- Southwest of Misty Meadows
Upon locating IO Guards at one of these locations, players should perform the action that is indicated by the challenge that they are working on. For some Fortnite fans, that will mean dispatching the NPCs, while others will simply need to dance in their proximity. Whatever the case may be, the quest should be marked as complete and the associated reward should be granted as soon as the action has been done.
To note, challenges centering around IO Guards are certainly not the only new activities that are available in Season 8. Players can also forage mushrooms for Madcap, complete a Sideways encounter in Fortnite, and much more for further rewards. Additionally, fans that are working on the new Battle Pass can occupy themselves by collecting Color Bottles from a variety of locations, and these items will unlock colorful styles for the Toona Fish skin.
Fortnite is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
