From May 2 until May 23, Fortnite will be hosting a huge Star Wars event. Players will have three weeks to complete a mini-Battle Pass that's completely Star Wars-themed, and to do this they must complete the Find the Force quests, which will award them with Galactic Reputation. The higher their reputation, the more items they'll be able to unlock.
One of the Find the Force quests requires players to open a Republic Chest, but they only spawn in specific locations. This guide will show players exactly where they must go in order to find Republic Chests in Fortnite.
Republic Chest Locations
Republic Chests are large black containers with a white symbol of the Galactic Republic on them. They only appear in three spots on the battle royale island, so they can be hard to find.
There are three Star Wars checkpoints where players will be able to find two Republic Chests. Here is where gamers must go to find them:
- North of Shattered Slabs - where the roads coming from Seaside Sentry and Pleasant Passage meet.
- South of Meadow Mansion, southwest of Frenzy Fields - where the roads coming from Shore Shack and Mega City meet.
- West of Slappy Shores, by the intersection, on the south of the river that leads to the ocean.
To make this quest easier, when starting a match, gamers should open their Map menu and visit the Quests tab. Then, scroll down to the Find the Force section and track the "Search a Republic Chest" quest. This will mark the areas near where these chests can be found. This only works for those that have never found one yet and still have this quest available.
Republic Chest Loot
Besides these chests being crucial to complete the Find the Force quest, Republic Chests are also the only way for players to acquire the DC-15 Blaster Rifle - one of the Star Wars weapons added with the v24.30 update. On top of this Mythic weapon, they also contain the same loot as a regular chest.
The DC-15 Blaster is an accurate weapon that's suitable for long to medium-range combat, and it requires no ammo at all. When equipped, it will always display that it contains an infinite amount of ammo because it shoots out lasers instead.
The only downside is that when it's used for too long, it will overheat. The tip of the weapon will begin to heat up and display a red glint and eventually, it will stop shooting until it cools down.
