Epic Games has officially confirmed that it will be ending Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 and starting Remix Chapter 2 with a brand-new live event known as Remix: The Prelude. After the huge success of Fortnite OG last year, Epic is once again bringing back a classic map as the next season will see players return to the Chapter 2 island, but not before another massive live event takes place on November 1.

Fortnite OG was a short, one-month-long season that took players on a nostalgia trip as Epic brought back the game's very first map, as well as Chapter 1's weapons, items, vehicles, and more. The special season was a huge success for the studio, as Fortnite smashed its player count record with over 44.7 million players and 102 million hours played in just a single day. Fans have been begging Epic to bring back Fortnite OG as a separate playlist ever since, but the studio is opting to go one better by releasing Remix Chapter 2 this weekend.

Fortnite Confirms New Live Event

After teasing the new Fortnite season over the weekend, Epic Games has now confirmed when the battle royale's next live event will take place. With rumors suggesting Remix Chapter 2 is set to debut on Saturday, November 2, it looks like the next live event will take place the day before, on Friday, November 1, according to Epic. In a new tweet on the game's official Twitter account, the studio announced that the live event will be called Remix: The Prelude and will take place on November 1 at 3:30 PM PT / 6:30 PM ET / 10:30 PM GMT.

Details surrounding the event and the new season are currently sparse, but one thing fans can be certain of is that Fortnite will be returning to the Chapter 2 island with the upcoming content update. Players were left worried after getting a sneak peek at Remix Chapter 2, as the short teaser trailer appeared to take place on the current Chapter 5 map. Epic would then go on to shut down the community's concerns and confirm that the next season will return to the iconic map "with splashes of content from earliest seasons."

While Epic didn't confirm which seasons will be included in Remix Chapter 2, reliable leakers and data miners have revealed the full release schedule for Fortnite's Remix Chapter 2 update. Although it's possible that Epic adjusts these dates, leaks indicate that the Remix chapter will kick off on November 2 with Season 1, followed by Season 2 on November 9, Season 3 on November 23, and then another live event for Chapter 6 on November 30.
