On November 2, Fortnite launched its Chapter 2 Remix event, a bite-sized seasonal update that brought several world-famous rap artists like Snoop Dog and Eminem to the forefront. However, another big part of this update was intended to be a new tournament, which has now been canceled.

The player was about to drop into their Reload Performance Evaluation before quickly noticing something was off with the map. The new Reload Oasis map part of Fortnite's Chapter 2 Remix update was there, but looked to be mixed with the main Battle Royale island. This wasn't just a visual bug, as names of locations in the game's menus, such as iconic Fortnite areas like Lizard Links and Salty Springs, merged together.

Epic Games Cancels Fortnite Tournament Due to Map Glitch

The clip quickly went viral, with fans waiting to see what developer Epic Games would do about the bug. Players now have their answer, with the team at Epic deciding to cancel the Reload Performance Evaluation Cup entirely due to the bug. Epic Games made the announcement on the official Fortnite Status update Twitter account, likely causing confusion and disappointment for those who were hopeful to compete in one of Fortnite's latest tournaments. "Thank you for participating in the Performance Evaluation Cup, which helped identify this issue," says Epic, which is the last update the team has provided regarding the bug.

Fortnite's Chapter 2 Remix ends on November 30, which will directly lead into the game's highly anticipated Chapter 6 update. According to leaks, it's likely Fortnite's Chapter 6 will be released on December 1, but only time will tell. It's unknown what Fortnite's upcoming Chapter 6 update might include, though the rumor mill has been hard at work over the last several weeks.
