Fortnite has officially launched its newest season, which features a major collaboration with the long-running television show The Simpsons. While many crossovers are limited to the game's Item Shop, this one is a bit different. Currently, the entire map is a blend of Springfield and iconic locations from Fortnite's island. It also features an animated art style, which is a first for the popular battle royale. Players who log into the game will also be treated to a new battle pass filled with characters like Homer Simpson, Marge Simpson, and Ned Flanders. Meanwhile, other characters will be appearing in the Item Shop, starting with Bart Simpson. While Epic Games is certainly no stranger to large-scale collaborations, many players seem to think this one is something truly special.
Fortnite Players Want the Simpsons Season Extended
In a recent post on Reddit, StrangeSPHERE suggested that Fortnite's Simpsons mini-season should last longer than a month. Right now, the mini-season is scheduled to end on November 29. Once the season ends, players can expect to see a major update that will introduce Chapter 7. However, StrangeSPHERE has asked that Epic Games extend the length of the season by a month, meaning it would run through December as well. Many players seemed to agree, stating that they really appreciate the new map and are having a great time finding all the secrets hidden within it. CaptainHarlocke suggested that the mini-season maps should rotate in and out of the game like special events. Others mentioned that Epic Games should bring back such events as limited modes on the weekends, much like Fortnite's recent Delulu game mode.
Aggressive_Ferret_20 stated that they would like to see the Springfield-inspired map enter the rotation of Fortnite's Reload game mode, which typically allows players to face off in a variety of locations. Reload recently featured a special map as a part of Fortnitemares, which gave players a chance to experience spooky delights for a limited time. Some gamers agreed with the proposition, expressing that they would simply like to revisit the unique Springfield map in some capacity.
This isn't the first time players have asked Epic Games to extend the length of a season or bring it back as a separate game mode, as many players lamented the end of Fortnite's Star Wars mini-season, which debuted in May 2025. With a robust loot pool and unique gameplay mechanics, many players were sad to see the collaboration go away. However, with so much content to enjoy and Chapter 7 rapidly approaching, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Fortnite.
