Fortnite's Week 8 of its current season has begun, offering players a fresh set of challenges to complete in order to earn large amounts of XP. The new week also rolls out another wave of Omni Chips for Fortnite players to collect, including a trio at the named location The Joneses.
Fortnite's Omni Chips are used as a form of currency for players to access a variety of customization options for the Omni Blade pickaxe. Connected to Tsuki 2.0, one of this season's new characters from the Battle Pass, the highly alterable harvesting tool can have just about every aspect "programmed"; from the blade shape to the guard, the blade color, to even its swinging sound effects.
Where to Find Omni Chips at The Joneses
While the numerous iterations of Joneses were once scattered around the island, the main Fortnite protagonist(s) have since banded together to form a community called The Joneses, where players can quickly collect another three Omni Chips.
- Omni Chip 1 - The first Omni Chip players can find at The Joneses is in the southwest region of the location. Go to the small lake, where the chip will be sitting on the pier's edge.
- Omni Chip 2 - The Joneses' second Omni Chip location is east of the first. Head east to the large barn-like structure, and take the stairs down to the bottom level to collect the Omni Chip inside the jail cell.
- Omni Chip 3 - The third and final Omni Chip can be found just north of the second. Head up the stairs from the jail cell and continue north, where the last chip is tucked under the overturned boat.
Once players have managed to collect all three at The Joneses, there is another set of Omni Chips at the nearby Coney Crossroads. Given that the POI is home to an IO Tank and a general hotspot for players to drop in at, it's recommended to grab the chips at The Joneses first to properly arm up before venturing into the hotly contested Coney Crossroads.
In addition to introducing a new batch of Omni Chip locations this week, several vaulted weapons have been reintroduced to the island. Part of Fortnite's v20.30 hotfix, the Flint-Knock Pistol, and Hunting Rifle are now back in the game. The update also unvaults the long-dormant Air Strike, which rains down a flurry of 20 missiles wherever the throwable item lands.
While it won't be too long until Fortnite Chapter 3 Seasons 3 begins, there is still plenty for players to do for the remainder of the current season.
Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
