Summary
- Epic Games releases new Fortnite OG Season 3 update.
- The update features the return of Lucky Landing, 50v50, and some iconic weapons.
- Season 3 also comes with a new OG Fortnite Pass featuring cosmetic items based on classic skins.
Epic Games has officially released the new Fortnite OG Season 3 update, featuring some iconic weapons, map changes, and the classic 50v50 mode. While the standard Battle Royale mode for Fortnite is currently halfway through its Chapter 6 Season 2 update, fans looking for a nostalgia kick can now relive the days of 2017 as the game's OG mode receives a substantial new update with plenty of iconic features.
As the latest update has added a ton of new files to the game, data miners have already uncovered evidence that suggests Fortnite is gearing up for a new crossover with The Walking Dead. Shortly after the update was released on March 25, leakers such as HYPEX discovered Negan's Bat in the game's files, while other leaks revealed details of a new skin for the iconic villain. An official announcement has yet to be made by Epic Games surrounding a new collaboration with Robert Kirkman's post-apocalyptic series, but it looks like the new weapons and cosmetic items could be making their way to the game relatively soon.
Fortnite Needs to Reduce the Price of Kicks
In Fortnite, you can barely see your character's feet. And even if you do, you and your opponent probably won't be looking at the shoes you have on. Kicks are a fun cosmetic, and I'm not against them being available in the shop, but charging between 600 to 1000 V-Bucks V-Bucks, from $5 to $10, for virtual shoes just doesn't seem right.
Following an official reveal for Fortnite OG Season 3 earlier in the week, Epic Games has now released the full update for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile users. According to the patch notes, which can be found further down this article, the latest update to Fortnite OG features the return of Lucky Landing, a plethora of iconic weapons and items, such as the Light Machine Gun, Port-A-Fort, Heavy Shotgun, Clingers, and much more. Fans can also jump back into 50v50, the very first limited-time game mode that initially debuted in Fortnite all the way back in 2017 with the original launch of Chapter 1 Season 3.
There's also a brand-new Fortnite OG Battle Pass for Season 3, which once again features a variety of cosmetic items heavily inspired by the original season. According to Epic Games, the new OG pass has 45 tiers of rewards for players to unlock, with many of the items taking inspiration from Power Chord, Raven, and Rex - outfits that debuted during the original Season 3. Players looking to make the most of the new Battle Pass will need to purchase it for 1,000 V-Bucks, but there are also plenty of free rewards up for grabs. The premium pass features three different outfits for players to obtain: Power Punk, Mecha R3X, and Sir Raven.
While fans will also find Back Blings, Pickaxes, and other accessories in the new OG Pass, there likely won't be any of Fortnite's controversial Kicks available. The latest cosmetic option allows players to customize the shoes they wear with each outfit, otherwise known as Kicks. However, due to the minimal visibility of a player's feet and the huge price tag that comes with them, fans have made it clear that they aren't happy with the feature.
