The Major 2 Grand Finals are right around the corner, and Fortnite has just vaulted a popular mobility item. There is no doubt that this Fortnite season has been quite unique so far. With its futuristic, cyberpunk theme, it introduced gamers to the gigantic POI that's Mega City, and also to the Japanese-inspired areas that surround it. This new location was the main focus when it came to promoting Chapter 4 Season 2, but there were other selling points that caught players' eyes and might've even gotten some new gamers to try out the game. When the Chapter 4 Season 2 Battle Pass was first revealed, fans quickly learned that they would be able to unlock Eren Jaeger in Fortnite later on in the season and that they would be able to try out Attack on Titan's ODM Gear, a fast-paced mobility item that fits right in with the hectic vibe of the season. The way this item works is quite similar to the now-vaulted Spider-Man's Web-Shooters. The player points in the direction of a structure or an object in the environment and it launches a hook that allows them to latch onto it and move around by swinging from place to place.RELATED: Fortnite Makes Changes to the Battle Bus The ODM Gear item has now been vaulted from tournaments and Arena mode. Epic Games has disclosed that it decided to remove the item because a bug was making it impossible to enter build mode after using it. To make up for the lack of mobility that this could cause, more Kinetic Blades will spawn on the map. The FNCS Major 2 Grand Finals are taking place in a few days, and an error that prevents the ability to build would be far too critical to allow it to remain in-game.

The Fortnite Champion Series is the biggest competitive Fortnite event of the year. Professional players have been training as hard as they can to ensure that they make it to the Fortnite Global Championship in Copenhagen in late 2023. It would be unfair for them to enter a game and be unable to play it as they would regularly.

Gamers interested in watching the Major 2 Grand Finals can watch at Legends Landing on May 13 and May 14, and they'll even get a free FNCS Defender back bling as a reward. Hopefully, this issue will be patched soon so the ODM Gear can be reactivated in competitive modes soon.

Fortnite is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
