This weekend marks the return of the Super Bowl, the final game of the National Football League's post-season. Fortnite is getting into the spirit of the NFL's championship game by bringing back one of its best outfits. Epic Games has now confirmed that the high-value NFL outfit is back in Fortnite's Item Shop starting today. The outfit will supposedly remain available through the Super Bowl, then it will go back in the vault for an undefined period of time.
The Fortnite NFL outfit is something special, even compared to many of Fortnite's most popular skins. What's special about the Fortnite NFL skin is that it's also a skin for every single NFL team. Fortnite players can make a single purchase and then wear any of the NFL's 32 different teams. Players can choose between Super Bowl contenders the 49ers or the Chiefs, or they can choose from any of the league's already-eliminated teams.
Fortnite is also holding several in-game festivities to celebrate its partnership with the NFL. Also starting today, Fortnite players can play a special themed Team Rumble where players join either the San Francisco 49ers or the Kansas City Chiefs. Team Rumble is a 40-player match split into two teams, with the first to reach 100 eliminations winning. The Super Bowl-themed Team Rumble will last through Super Bowl Sunday on February 2.
Epic Games is also partnering with Twitch for a special Fortnite Twitch Rivals event named the "Streamer Bowl." 16 different streamers will be partnering with a professional NFL player to form Duos. For example, Dr. Lupo is partnering with Keenan Allen from the Los Angeles Chargers and Tfue is partnering with the Arizona Cardinals' Kyler Murray. The Duos teams will compete for a prize pool of $500,000, all for charity.
You don't have to be a fan of the NFL and you don't have to watch the Super Bowl to enjoy Fortnite's event. At the very least, the weekend's festivities will be a nice change of pace. For NFL fans, it'll be something much more enjoyable, of course. There's nothing like wearing the outfit of your favorite NFL team and eliminating an opponent wearing the jersey of your team's biggest rivals. Just think about how many teams will be eliminating the Patriots this weekend.
