Fortnite has launched a crossover event with My Hero Academia, adding three new skins. While Fortnite has beloved original characters like Fishsticks and Meowscles, the battle royale is also known for big collaborations with pop culture names.
Six years into its existence, Fortnite has a long list of crossovers with names inside and outside the gaming world. One example is the fourth season of Chapter 4, Fortnite's current season, which will get the skin of Ahsoka Tano from Star Wars. Another skin that players can unlock is Khaby Lame, the TikTok star famous for his funny videos. While many collaborations with Fortnite have yet to happen, one popular anime is back with a new crossover.
Fortnite launched a new My Hero Academia event along with update 26.10, adding the skins of Shoto Todoroki, Eijiro Kirishima, and Mina Ashido. The skins are available in the in-game store for 1,500 V-Bucks each, or in bundles of their respective characters. Each bundle comes with the skin, an emote, backbling, and a pickaxe, with Kirishima's and Ashido's costing 2,800 V-Bucks each. Meanwhile, Todoroki's bundle costs 2,400 V-Bucks. The previous Fortnite x My Hero Academia crossover got items based on Deku, and now the game adds Todoroki's Ice Walls. Players can find the item on the ground, in regular and rare chests, and All Might Supply Drops. With the Ice Wall, the player creates a highly durable barrier to protect themselves and repel enemies during matches.
The My Hero Academia event also marks the return of Deku Smash to Fortnite, giving players the power of One For All. The item previously made headlines when Fortnite disabled Deku Smash due to a bug, with the item later returning to the game. In the second time available in Fortnite, players can find Deku Smash in the All Might boxes until update 26.20. To help everybody with the grind, the My Hero Academia event has launched Deku and Todoroki quests where each quest is worth 20,000 XP. By completing a total of six Deku and Todoroki quests, Fortnite players will unlock a battle pass level up for free.
Fortnite has a good track record when it comes to crossovers with anime, having collaborated with Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball Super, and Naruto. Before the return of My Hero Academia there was also a crossover between Fortnite and Jujutsu Kaisen, bringing one of the most popular anime of the moment into the game. Although there are anime without a crossover with Fortnite, given Epic Games' knack for securing huge partnerships, it won't be surprising to see more beloved names eventually appear in the game.
Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
