Where To Find Lightsabers In Fortnite

Galactic Battle marks the collision between the worlds of Fortnite and Star Wars once again for an entire season, throwing players headfirst into a wild sci-fi adventure. Players diving in can explore unique POIs, jump straight into completing Story Quests, and try their luck blasting their way to their first Victory Royale of the season.

That's not all, though, as players can also get their hands on an arsenal of Star Wars weaponry. While much of the focus is placed on the various blasters that players can wield, melee enthusiasts may be pleased to know that Lightsabers have returned. Here is how to get a Lightsaber in Fortnite.

How To Get a Lightsaber In Fortnite

Jedi Padawan Lightsaber & Sith Apprentice Lightsaber Locations

Jedi Padawan Lightsaber and Force Push ability: Received by speaking to Rey
Sith Apprentice Lightsaber and Force Lightning ability: Received by speaking to Darth Sidious

The most surefire way for players to get a Lightsaber in Fortnite is to visit either Rey or Darth Sidious and speak to them to learn the Force Push and Force Lightning abilities.

Both Rey and Darth Sidious will spawn in random locations once the first storm circle has closed, with only two Lightsabers being up for grabs at this time. Each character’s location will be marked by a Lightsaber icon on the map, with Rey being found at the blue Lightsaber location, and Darth Sidious spawning at the red Lightsaber location.

Once players have found either character, they can interact with them to learn one of two Force Abilities. Upon accepting their teachings, a cutscene plays with the player entering a rift, and once they exit it, they will be given their very own Lightsaber and Force Ability.

Darth Vader's Sith Apprentice Lightsaber Location

While players can get their hands on a Sith Apprentice Lightsaber from Darth Sidious, they can also get another by defeating Darth Vader over at Vader's Samurai Solitude.

When he is defeated, players will be able to speak with him as they would with Rey and Darth Sidious to learn the Force Saber Throw ability. Upon doing so, players will enter a rift and then come out with a Sith Apprentice Lightsaber in hand.

How To Use a Lightsaber In Fortnite

Lightsabers are primarily melee weapons that deal 40 damage per swing and require players to get relatively close to their enemies.

If players have spoken to one of the three characters that grant Force Abilities, they will also receive a boost in sprint speed with the Lightsaber equipped, a unique Force Ability that can be triggered by firing while blocking, along with the ability to Force Jump while in mid-air. The Lightsaber is also capable of blocking blaster fire with its block feature, mitigating incoming damage.

Here is a quick breakdown of how to use each Lightsaber ability:

Attack: Fire Button
Block: Aim Button (Hold)
Force Jump: Jump Button (While in the air)
Force Push / Force Lightning / Force Saber Throw: Fire Button (While blocking)

While players can loot Lightsabers from eliminated players, they can only obtain the Force Jump, Force Push, Force Lightning, and Force Saber Throw abilities by speaking with either Rey, Darth Sidious, or Darth Vader.
