Fortnite will once again be joining forces with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise in an upcoming event. While Fortnite has collaborated with numerous brands over the years, there will always be hundreds of community requests for additional crossovers and events. Back in August, leaks hinted at the possibility of TMNT coming to Fortnite. Several manhole covers appeared on the map, and they had a peculiar name in the files that suggested a connection to the Ninja Turtles.
Fans were quite excited when the TMNT rumors started going around the community, but the hype eventually died down due to the lack of news or viable leaks. Nevertheless, some gamers remained hopeful, and eventually, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles skins were added to the Fortnite Item Shop. Besides Michelangelo, Raphael, Donatello, and Leonardo, April O'Neil was also added to the game.
Fortnite Reveals Major Change Coming to Creative Mode
Fortnite announces that a new change is coming to its Creative mode, following recent issues over maps that feature offensive content.
On January 24, a leak surfaced, indicating that Shredder would be coming to Fortnite soon. With time, more information started to surface, including a release window. It seems that Shredder will be available as part of a Fortnite x TMNT crossover event. The event files will be added with the release of update v28.20 and the teasers will be removed with v28.30. Updates tend to become available on Tuesdays, and events usually go live on Thursdays. On top of this, it is common for updates to come out every two weeks. This means that players can expect the TMNT event to start Thursday at 9 AM ET, so either on February 8 or 15.
When Is Shredder Coming to Fortnite?
- Players can expect Shredder to become available on February 8 at 9 AM ET through a crossover event
It is not uncommon for Epic Games to celebrate Valentine's Day in Fortnite, so it could release the TMNT event on February 8 to prevent overlap. Either way, the event should be live for a few weeks, as it seems it'll feature a mini Battle Pass just like the Star Wars Find the Force pass.
Several collabs have resulted in the release of a limited-time event tab featuring themed cosmetic items at a special price. Since this isn't an actual Battle Pass, Epic Games tends to make these skins available in the Fortnite Item Shop at a later date. However, those who pass up the opportunity to get these items through the seasonal tab will likely have to spend a lot more to acquire them in the shop.
