Epic Games has provided Fortnite players with an update after removing the Peaceful Hips Emote from the game late last month, confirming that the cosmetic item will return but with some adjustments to its choreography. The emote was added to Fortnite as part of its collaboration with Warner Bros. For the second season of DC's Peacemaker, starring John Cena as the titular character. However, Epic quickly removed the item from the game after questioning the "creative intentions" behind the dance.
On September 14, the Fortnite Item Store was updated with yet another John Cena bundle, but this time in character as the DC superhero Peacemaker. The entire bundle can be purchased for 2,800 V-Bucks, which not only comes with the new Peacemaker skin, but also with an Eagly Backbling, Emote, Pickaxe, and much more. The addition of Peacemaker was just the latest in a long line of collaborations between Fortnite and Warner Bros., as fellow DC superheroes, such as Batman, Wonder Woman, and many more, also have their own exclusive skins in the game.

Fortnite Is Bringing Peacemaker's Emote Back With New Changes
Unfortunately, the Peacemaker collaboration quickly sparked controversy, as Fortnite removed the Peaceful Hips Emote shortly after its release due to concerns about the unknown intentions behind the dance choreography. Although not specifically mentioned, it's believed that Epic's concerns centered on what appeared to be a resemblance to a swastika in one section of the dance, which directly ties to the ongoing storyline in Peacemaker Season 2. However, Epic says it has now worked closely with Warner Bros. Games to confirm that there were no "creative intentions" to connect the emote to the current Peacemaker storyline, which means the emote will return in next week's update.
Despite Epic Games stating that Warner Bros. Games confirmed there were no creative intentions to connect the emote to the show's ongoing storyline, the studio says it plans to modify the choreography before its return, in an attempt to "avoid any confusion." Fans who are unhappy with the changes will be able to receive a full refund for the item. While there's no confirmed release date for the emote's return, new Fortnite updates are often released on a Tuesday, which means the controversial Peacemaker emote may return to the game on Tuesday, October 7. But, again, this exact date has not been confirmed by Epic.
With October now in full swing, Fortnite fans are going to have plenty to keep them occupied over the next few weeks. Players will be pleased to know that the Peaceful Hips Emote is returning next week, which will come shortly after a big new Fortnitemares event for 2025. The yearly Halloween-themed event is rumored to begin on October 2, according to reliable leakers. Fans can once again expect plenty of spooky cosmetic items, challenges, and more to make their way into the game for the duration of the event.
