How to Get the Icy Grappler

The Icy Grappler was added to Fortnite when Epic Games released the v28.01.01 update, which made some changes to players' movement and improved the game's quality of life; this small update followed the previous week's major Winterfest update. Gamers didn't expect to receive any additional winter items, so many were surprised when they found out that the Icy Grappler had been unvaulted.

Even though it is an Exotic rarity item, the Icy Grapple has been added to the standard Fortnite chest and floor loot pool, so players shouldn't have too much trouble finding it on the Battle Royale island. On top of this, gamers can increase their chances by searching inside Holiday Presents, as Winterfest items tend to spawn inside as well as rare loot.

How to Use the Icy Grappler

The Icy Grappler works similarly to the standard Grappler. The main difference is that if players use the Icy Grappler, slippery blocks of ice will appear on their feet, which will make it much harder for them to control their character as they will slide quite easily, especially if they're on an incline. If gamers want to slide down a mountain and are able to carefully calculate their movement, they can crouch and get to the bottom of it in a matter of seconds.

On the bright side, the Icy Grappler can be used an unlimited number of times, and it has no cooldown period, unlike most of the mobility items previously available in Fortnite.

Thanks to this item, gamers can freely move around the map, but they will have to deal with the downside of doing so with slippery ice blocks hindering their movement.
