Fortnite may have a surprise building up with Mariah Carey, who is thought to be encased in ice on the battle royale map. Mariah Carey has long been an ongoing meme during the holidays, due to her hit Christmas song, “All I Want for Christmas is You.” The joke goes on with the implication that she is encased in ice until the holiday season to share her song with the world. Fortnite has had several major crossovers for many years now, with nothing and no one seemingly being off the table at this point.

A prominent Fortnite leaker reveals that DC is collaborating with the battle royale once again, but this time with a feudal twist.

Mariah Carey may be coming to Fortnite, with strong evidence suggesting that she is currently encased in a giant ice block on the battle royale map. According to a leak revealed by Egyptian Fortnite Leaker on Twitter, Mariah Carey is encased in the ice block until December 20, when the Fortnite Winterfest event is set to begin. It’s said when she is thawed out, talking to her will reward the player with a unique emote based around her “All I Want for Christmas is You” song. Many other free cosmetics in Fortnite Winterfest are expected to drop around the same time.

The official Fortnite Twitter account also tweeted out the appearance of a strange giant ice block on the map, with fans pointing out the strong reference to Mariah Carey’s classic defrosting Christmas joke in the replies. Gaming-related jokes around Mariah Carey on Christmas come as recently as 2022, when someone made a funny Minecraft video based on the holiday song. The meme usually starts spreading around the end of Halloween, until the start of Christmas. A few days after the holidays, memes usually spread again of Mariah Carey going back into her “hibernation” state. These usually show her freezing back up until next year’s holiday season.

Epic Games has had more crossovers in its flagship title than a single person can possibly remember. A Skibidi Toilet skin is even expected to drop in Fortnite very soon, with some Fortnite fans not so pleased with the collaboration.
