Fortnite players can now enjoy a collaboration with the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise thanks to the release of the Cursed Sails event. Until August 6, plenty of quests will be coming out so that gamers can collect Cursed Gold and unlock Cursed Sails Pass rewards.
Fortnite: Jar of Dirt Location
Players can seek out a jar of dirt in Fortnite to deliver it to the man who needs it most in the Pirates of the Caribbean collab for some sweet XP.
One of the first set of quests released for the event requires players to walk the plank, which might be confusing due to its vagueness, especially for fans that don't tend to consume pirate-related media. This guide will tell players everything they need to know to quickly complete this quest and earn the first Map Piece in Fortnite.
Plank Locations
When the Pirates of the Caribbean event went live, two ships appeared on the Fortnite map. The Black Pearl, Captain Jack Sparrow's infamous ship, is stranded on Shipwreck Shallows, a new named location southeast of Ruined Reels. There is also another ship on the island's eastern shore; gamers who players Chapter 1 Season 8, the pirate-themed season, will recognize it as the ship in Lazy Lagoon. Here, gamers will also find the Jack Sparrow NPC.
Each of these ships has a plank, so in order to find a plank in Fortnite, gamers have to either visit the ship on Shipwreck Shallows or the ship on the shore of the island, east of Summit Temple.
How to Walk the Plank
In pirate slang, to walk the plank is to be forced overboard via the ship's plank. To walk the plank in Fortnite, gamers have to walk over to the plank on the side of the ship until a quest notification appears on their screen saying they've completed the quest. If players walk to the edge of the plank, it'll throw them up in the air, which might cause them to fall down into the water. Once they've completed this quest, they'll receive 300 Cursed Gold as a reward for their efforts.
