They’re back, baby! The iconic trio of Futurama characters crash land onto the Fortnite island, allowing players to have a selection of some of the funniest Futurama characters as they eliminate other players and claim the victory royale in Fortnite for themselves. Fortnite adds Bender, Leela, and Fry from Futurama into their ever-growing roster of collaboration characters, promoting yet another adult comedy like Rick and Morty. It even leaves some players hoping for Family Guy in Fortnite.
If players want to get their hands on the new Futurama skins in Fortnite, then they might want to be fast. As Fortnite players will be aware, collabs don’t last forever, and some Fortnite skins have remained out of the Item Shop for years. Whilst they are available, Futurama fans should chug a Slurm and take a look at the new cosmetics in Fortnite.
Where To Get Fry, Leela, and Bender
Players can head to the Fortnite Item Shop if they want the Futurama skins. They will first be greeted by the iconic Hypno-Toad, who is undoubtedly trying to entice players into purchasing the skins. Some of the best Collab skins in Fortnite come from other means, such as quests, exclusive Battle Passes, or even limited-time events. Luckily, the Futurama skins work differently.
The Futurama skins will be available to all players, provided they have the V-Bucks necessary. The entire Item Shop is currently celebrating the arrival of the Futurama crew, providing it with a unique Item Shop background as players get ready to see the Planet Express crew in action on the Fortnite island.
How Much For Each Skin?
There are a total of three Futurama skins that players can purchase. Each skin costs 1,500 V-Bucks and will come with unique back bling depending on the character that is purchased. These back blings are about something specific to the character, adding both a personal flair to each character, and showing the respect that Epic Games puts into these collab characters with some true deep cuts.
Players can buy the Futurama skins from the Item Shop for 1,500 V-Bucks, but if they hold off, they might just be able to afford one of the bundles that will come with every skin and back bling. However, the specific pickaxe for each character is locked to its unique bundle.
Philip J. Fry Pack
For 1,500 V-Bucks, players will be able to purchase the Philip J. Fry pack; the delivery boy who found himself frozen in the 20th century, awakening in the 31st century:
Philip J. Fry Outfit
“You can’t give up hope just because it’s hopeless. You gotta hope even more!” As part of the Futurama set, Philip J. Fry is a must-have, considering he is regarded as the protagonist of the series. Fry is an iconic animated character, who is as stupid as he is funny and caring. It can’t be easy to wake up over 10 centuries in the future, but it’s probably even harder to be stranded on the Fortnite island.
With the Philip J. Fry Outfit, players will be able to use the cel-shaded character, who very much looks like he’s been pulled out of the 2D cartoon and given a 3D model. Alternatively, players can use a different style for Fry, allowing them to use his Universe 1 skin.
Hypnotoad
“ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD.” Joining Fry for the ride is Hypnotoad, who will act as Fry’s back bling. Players can only obtain the Hypnotoad back bling if they purchase the Fry bundle, as it comes as part of the skin.
It’s a fun back bling, which has those hypnotic eyes constantly moving. Sadly, it cahypnotizeotise other players to help the player get their victory royale. However, they may find encouragement from the fact that Hypnotoad is placed on a number 1 pedestal, proving that players can reach the number 1 spot if they try.
Turangala Leela Pack
The iconic mutant and karate-kicking Planet Express crew captain, Leela, joins the Fortnite fight with an outfit and back bling:
Turanga Leela Outfit
“This is it. The moment we should have trained for.” Leela is a great choice for Fortnite to include in their Fortnite x Futurama collab. Not only is her design great for the large siCyclopsclops eye, or the purple hair, but the fact that she can kick and punch her way through any issue makes her a great pick for the island.
Players can pick up Leela’s outfit in Fortnite for 1,500 V-Bucks. In doing so, they will also be able to switch to her Universe 1 style, which features a unique color scheme that players may want to use to further express themselves on the battlefield.
Nibbler
“Nibblonian Ambassador to Earth.” It wouldn’t be right to add Leela without her iconic and intelligent pet, Nibbler. Nibbler joins Leela in the fight as her supportive back bling. Although in Futurama Nibbler can consume animals and people in one bite, it seems that he is more than happy just to dangle from Leela’s back.
Nibbler is a cute back bling who will often yawn or seem tired. His reactive responses may seem distracting, especially when involved in an intense gunfight. However, it’s a great addition to the Futurama collab, even if his booming voice is not heard.
Bender Bending Rodriguez Pack
Bender can often be seen drinking, smoking, swearing, and pretty much everything a serving robot should not be doing. Which is why he’s such a great pick with his bundle:
Bender Outfit
“My story is a lot like yours, only more interesting ‘cause it involves robots.” For 1,500 V-Bucks, the iconic robot from Futurama can be the outfit of players’ choice in Fortnite. Bender looks as great as his ego allows him to feel. From the simple design to the aggressive facial expression.
Bender is a must-have for Futurama fans, as the character is so iconic that he has been seen outside of Futurama across other media, including an episode dedicated to him with The Simpsons. Bender also comes with his Universe 1 style, which paints him in shiny gold.
Ben Rodriguez
“Dreams of becoming a bender someday.” This reactive back bling will be as adorable as it is responsive. When taking damage, the Ben Rodriguez back bling will react accordingly. The design is far too cute for Fortnite and even rivals the Baby Yoda back bling for its adorability factor.
This back bling can only be acquired once players purchase the Bender skin, as it is the exclusive back bling of that character. However, once purchased, the back bling can be used on any character the player chooses.
Futurama Bundle
If players want all the Futurama goodies rather than just an individual skin, then they can purchase the Futurama Bundle for 2,800 V-Bucks. This is a great choice for Futurama fans who want it all, as the low price of the Futurama Bundle will save players a whopping 1,700 V-Buckl.
If players were to purchase all the skins individually, they are looking for 4,500 V-Bucks. However, if they purchase the Futurama Bundle, they are only looking at 2,800 V-Bucks, which is just less than two skins. The bundle will come with the three Futurama outfits and their respective back blings.
Futurama Gear Bundle
For 1,800 V-Bucks, players will be able to purchase the Futurama Gear Bundle. This bundle does not include the Futurama skins, but instead, includes the pickaxes, emote, and glider that will truly bring the iconic Futurama lore to life in Fortnite thanks to the obscurity of each design.
The cost of 1,800 V-Bucks will save players 1,900 V-Bucks in total, as buying each item individually will cost players a whopping total of 3,700 V-Bucks. In purchasing the Futurama Gear Bundle, players will save their V-Bucks, and obtain every Futurama item in Fortnite listed below:
Zoidberg Scuttle
“WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP!” For 500 V-Bucks, players can acquire the Futurama emote, the Zoidberg Scuttle. Zoidberg is a classic Futurama character who fans love to hate. He is very much picked on by the crew, and hated by most, which is exactly why fans adore him and his lobster claws.
With this emote, players will ‘woop’ like Zoidberg. The emote is traversal, meaning players can crab walk and smack their claws together as they navigate through the island. Although, some players may not appreciate the obnoxious ‘woop’, and aim for the head of the player.
Giant Nutcracker
“Crack a few shells.” Players can get their hands on a ridiculously sized nutcracker pickaxe for 800 V-Bucks. In the Futurama series, the giant nutcracker was a weapon used when Fry and Zoidberg fought in a gladiator arena.
Unbendable Girder
“Please insert girder.” Bender’s pickaxe in Fortnite is the Unbendable Girder. It can be purchased for 800 V-Bucks and will need two hands. The Unbendable Girder features in Futurama when Bender had to try and bend it to save Flexo’s life.
Solid Gold Fiddle
“Weapon of choice for any fiddle contest.” Curiously, the solid gold fiddle is not exactly Leela’s weapon, as it is the fiddle used by the Robot Devil. Nonetheless, players can purchase it individually for 800 V-Bucks.
Planet Express Ship
“Drop in for a special delivery.” The Planet Express Ship has been the iconic ship to the Futurama crew for decades. With this green ship, the crew can make their deliveries and mess them up in record time. The Planet Express Ship has been through some truly remarkable adventures, and now, it makes its way to the Fortnite island.
Players can use the Planet Express Ship as a glider in Fortnite for the price of 800 V-Bucks. Mechanic-wise, it’s a pretty good glider, as players will want to keep their view from getting obstructed so that they can see where other players are landing, whether that is near or far from the player in question.
How Long Will Futurama Stay In The Item Shop?
It's unknown just how long the Futurama items will remain in the Fortnite Item Shop. However, based on previous collaboration skins that have appeared in the item shop, it's safe to say they are here to stay for a few weeks.
The Futurama skins and items arrived in Fortnite on July 26th, 2023. It's expected that these items and skins will leave the item shop anywhere from 2 weeks or more. Some collaboration skins have spent months in the store. It's entirely up to Fortnite when these skins rotate out.
