The Underworld grows in power in Fortnite's latest season, Myths & Monsters, and Chapter 5 Season 2 provides players with another new Mythic weapon that can turn the tides of war and provide an excellent strategy for a Victory Royale, whether it's the first, tenth, or hundredth and beyond. Yet, how exactly are players to get their hands on Fortnite's latest Mythic weapon?
The Chains of Hades have arrived at last and are imbued with the dark energy of death from The Underworld, players can surprisingly find them pretty commonly, but there are still a few guaranteed spots to pick one of these up, and learn how it controls to dominate the battlefield like the God of the Underworld himself, Hades.
How To Get Chains Of Hades
The Chains of Hades comes to Fortnite as the newest form of Olympian Power, and players can acquire it through a variety of ways. It's not like other Mythic weapons that come exclusively from the Olympian Bosses scattered around Chapter 5 Season 2's island, and instead, players might be able to get their hands on this Mythic through these following ways:
- Found as Floor Loot (random chance)
- Open Normal Chests, Rare Chests, Olympus Chests, Underworld Chests (random chance)
- Defeat Hades, the Olympian Boss located in The Underworld (guaranteed drop)
It's going to be rather common to find the Chains of Hades, as players have already reported spotting several as soon as the V29.01 update dropped. However, if players are seeking a guaranteed chance, then head straight to Hades in The Underworld and eliminate him.
Chains Of Hades Abilities
A dangerous melee weapon imbued with the power of The Underworld. A long-range hookshot allows the wielder to rip enemies into range of its devastating attack combo.
The Chains of Hades can be lethal in the right hands, but they are still a risky weapon to use, as players will essentially be running a melee weapon against an arsenal of guns. To use the Chains of Hades' main attack, simply hit R2 to swing and attack. There are a few advantages; the Chains of Hades have a pretty solid damage output, with a combo that can be chained with 3 hits, equating to 150 damage in total:
- First Hit: 40 damage
- Double Hit: 40 damage
- 3 Consecutive Hits: 70 damage
Another great focus of the Chains of Hades is in the Pull Attack. To activate, Hold LT/L2 to charge the chain by spinning it, and then tap RT/R2 to throw the chain, and pull any target towards the player. This can be charged with LT/L2 to extend the throwing range. This attack can deal anywhere between 20-30 damage, and it will force players into proximity. Players can also use this move to pull items and weapons towards them, which is great if they are pinned down and need to grab a shield or medkit, as they can pull it towards them from behind cover.
It's also worth noting that players can equip as many Chains of Hades as they want, but there's no purpose in doing this outside of hoarding. Players also do not have to worry about ammo or durability, as the Chains of Hades is an infinite item that does not run out or require a timer after use.
