How to Get on the Train in Fortnite
The train will continuously go around the island throughout a match. To get on the train in Fortnite, players can either wait for it to ride past them, they can get a car and try to catch up to it, or they can land nearby.
If players want to get into the Train Vault badly, they should land very close by, quickly loot a landmark, and then run towards the train as it's about to pass. This way, they can get some weapons to take down the turrets - or any opponents that might show up -, and they can ensure that it's not too late and that they're the first ones to attempt the heist.
Players can easily get on top of a train car by jumping and mantling on it. Alternatively, they can jump for a high location down onto it. The train has five cars, and gamers will want to memorize what's on top of each car so they can plan out a strategy:
- Car #1 - Nothing (safe)
- Car #2 - Turret (danger)
- Car #3 - Vault door (safe)
- Car #4 - Turret (danger)
- Car #5 - Nothing (safe)
How to Open the Train Vault in Fortnite
To open the Train Vault in Fortnite, gamers will have to reach the third car and place Thermite on the vault door. This has to be done twice, as the Train Vault door will only open with the second load of Thermite.
The Thermite takes a few seconds before it explodes and fully damages the door, and since gamers have to repeat this process, they'll have to stay on the train for a significant amount of time. It is wise to destroy the turrets to prevent them from hurting the player or any teammate they might have with them. Additionally, train turrets drop Thermite upon destruction.
The door will explode with the second Thermite, allowing players to enter the Train Vault. However, once the door has been breached, hostile NPCs will begin to spawn and attack to protect the loot inside.
