Story Quests have been part of Fortnite for a couple of years now. They're an interesting way for fans to follow the current season's storyline. With the release of Galactic Battle, the Star Wars-themed mini-season, the way that Story Quests are presented was changed a fair bit. While before gamers only had to open the Story Quests tab and go through the various stages to understand what was going on, it's not as linear or as straightforward now.

This is where the fun begins, as the galaxy far, far away has crossed over into Fortnite to provide players with a Star Wars-themed Battle Pass.

This season, in order to obtain Story Quests, players will have to actually go around the mind and find them, as they are totally hidden. This guide tells players where they can find the first set of Story Quests in Fortnite Galactic Battle and how to complete them.

How to Discover All Story Quests in Fortnite

Story Quest Locations

Galactic Battle takes a different approach to Story Quests compared to previous seasons. Instead of simply following instructings from characters on the map, players will have to scout the Battle Royale island and search certain areas to try and find problems to solve related to the story of Galactic Battle.

In the Story section of the Quests tab, players will find there are blue circle marking certain areas of the map. This means that these spots are connected to a Story Quest somehow, and it is up to gamers to figure out why. Here is where players need to go in order to unlock Story Quests in Fortnite:

  • Rebel Outpost near Burd to Go on the northeastern corner of the map
  • Resistance Base
  • Rebel Outpost south of Flooded Frogs
  • Rebel Outpost northeast of Brutal Boxcars
  • Northeast of Rolling Blossoms Farm, southeast of Seaport City
  • Vader Samurai's Solitude
  • First Order Base
  • Outpost Enclave

Some of these locations are either bugged or the same quest can be completed elsewhere. For example, one of the Story Quests requires players to retrieve Rebel Data Log entries, which can be done at various Rebel Outposts. Additionally, when players visit Outpost Enclave, it seems there are no story markers or other indicadors nearby, but this could be connected to the glitched NPCs that should be there.

How to Complete Story Quests in Fortnite

At the moment, there are only five Story Quests that players can unlock and finish in Fortnite. However, it is evident by looking at the Story Quests tab that there will be more Bonus Goal stages, meaning more quests will come in a future update. For now, here are the quests that players can unlock right now, what they need to do to discover them, and how to complete them:

Bring a Jedi Padawan Lightsaber to General Grievous

grievous fortnite

Players will have to get a Jedi Padawan Lightsaber, which can be obtained from Rey's hologram. To find Rey in Fortnite, players need to open their map once a Storm Circle closes and search for a blue Lightsaber marker. Then, they need to reach it before anyone else does and interact with the hologram to get the Lightsaber.

Once they've gotten it, gamers must bring the Lightsaber back to General Grievous to complete the quest. Grievous will give players a Mythic-rarity IQA-11 Marksman Blaster Rifle in exchange for the Lightsaber. Gamers can repeat this guide anytime in the future.

Destroy Structures With the X-Wing's Weapons (25)

  • How to unlock: Talk to Poe Dameron at Resistance Base and select the "Flight Lessons" interactions

To complete this quest, gamers will have to find an X-Wing ship in Fortnite and press the Fire button while looking directly at structures to bring them down to zero health and destroy them. Once this is done, they need to get back to Resistance Base and talk to Poe again. He will give them a Legendary-rarity A280-CFE Blaster Rifle.

From then on, players can always talk to him and ask for more Flight Lessons in exchange for this weapon. However, after this Story Quest, Poe will only task players with flying 500 meters on an X-Wing. It is a relatively easy way to obtain a high-rarity weapon at the start of a match.

Retrieve the Rebel Data Log Entry (4)

Rebel Data Log Locations

  • How to unlock: Hidden quest. Visit a rebel location and retrieve a Rebel Data Log entry to unlock

Visit a Rebel Outpost or the Resistance Base and use the Retrieve Data Log interaction on a computer. Doing this the first time will unlock the hidden quest, but gamers must do it a total of four times to complete the Story Quest itself.

To complete this quest, players can go to different locations each time or, after being eliminated, return to the same place and retrieve the data once again.

When players press any other button besides Continue after interacting with a computer to get the entries, there is a glitch that could make it impossible for gamers to retrieve it at all. If this happens, they will have to come back once the match is over and try again.

Retrieve Stormtrooper Data Log Entry (4)

  • How to unlock: Hidden quest. Visit Vader Samurai's Solitude and retrieve a Rebel Data Log entry to unlock

This quest is very similar to the one mentioned before, but it won't have players running around the map as much, as it can be done in the same named location. To retrieve Stormtrooper Data Log entries in Fortnite, players must go to Vader Samurai's Solitude, enter the various houses, and interact with the Data Log computers once again.

Fix the TIE Fighter

  • How to unlock: Hidden quest. Visit the Rebel Outpost north of Flooded Frogs and interact with the computer

Since Rebel Outposts are connected to another Story Quest, many gamers won't suspect that there is actually another hidden quest that they ca complete at a specific outpost. If players visit the Rebel Outpost directly south of Flooded Frogs, players will notice that there is a damaged TIE Fighter ship in the middle of the outpost. What will surprise them is even though it isn't possible to interact with it at first, they can repair it and use it.

Firstly, players must interact with the computer located at the Rebel Outpost to initiate this quest. It will ask them to gather three fuel containers. Thankfully, the containers are nearby and can be collected within seconds. Quest markers will point players in the right direction, but if they're having problems finding them, gamers can check out this comprehensive guide on how to complete this quest and repair the TIE Fighter.

Once the TIE Fighter's tank is full, players can use the Fly interaction on the ship and control it like any other TIE Fighter in Fortnite. The best part about this quest is that, similarly to Poe Dameron's quest, gamers can return to this location, repeat these steps and take advantage of the outcome once again. In this case, they won't get a Legendary-rarity weapon, but they have a guaranteed spawn for one of the best vehicles in Fortnite.

While more Story Quest locations appear marked on the map, these seem to be tied to the missing NPCs, so they are currently not accessible.
